Urban Warrior HECU

Description
This mod outfits the Marines with an urban camouflage pattern inspired by one of the uniforms used by the United States Marine Corps during Operation Urban Warrior in 1998. This camouflage pattern is similar to the one that would be used in Half-Life (colors scheme) and the HD pack (color and pattern).

The pack currently contains Urban Camouflage Uniform, Beret with HL1 HECU badge, Blue NVG's, Camouflage Helmet (new), a gib texture, and a matching Zombie.

Note:
Due to an unknown issue, the texture may not appear in-game even though it is being read; the game reads the new texture but still chooses to display the default instead. This is not an issue exclusive to this mod, other mod makers have reported similar issues with the Marine's textures.

It is recommended to move the mod's vpk file to your custom folder for it to appear in-game. To do this, navigate to:

Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\362890\1933190371

and move it to your custom folder located at:

steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms\custom

Nice and cool-looking. Btw did you know that when they did their last test with the urban warrior-program they had developed a different find of urban camo called T-pattern? I have seen images of it and think it would be cool to see the HECU in it plus I think it would fit the setting for Half-life/Black Mesa perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SR3B5m35NE

Can you just change only the shirt? Not the armor and gloves?

After consulting with others, extensive testing, and even attempting to fix it by recompiling all of the Marine models, I have failed to find a working solution. Other modders have also reported this issue with the Marine's model, but it is unknown why and recompiling the models does not fix it. The game's filepath does point to the vpk but somehow the game does not load it. Bringing up the texture window and pressing refresh will always fix it, but that's a complicated solution.

The only surefire solution I can offer is for you to simply put the vpk in your custom folder, it will 100% work properly then.

That's an old issue I've "fixed" twice now, but thanks for letting me know it's still happening. I'll consult with some people and see if there's anything I can do, but I'm pretty sure it's a workshop problem. In the meantime you could put the .vpk in your custom folder if you have one set up.

You can find the .vpk in:

The textures only work the HECU zombie.

Sure! It's uploaded here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2696631197

Details on the mod page are sparse because I'm currently very busy, I'll pretty it up later.
