Ninja Mono (Classic)

Mono (Classic)
3 items
Description
A mono mode where most of the blocks are greys just like the old days. In this version the color blocks are also positioned harder

Hit colors, dodge greys.
Left click to widen
Right click to shuriken

Even the scoring system of matches and combos are included. The track is very bumpy and all visual aspects that should make it feel classic have been imitated

Blocks are placed at a very nasty way. They can be very close to greys both in front and behind. The total traffic compared to mono pro has increased aswel and the blocks are further away from each other to both provide a better visiblity to get between the blocks but also to make you see them later.

This mode is heavily affected by the music compared to mono pro. Songs that are easy in mono pro are also going to be easy in this mode. The harder the song, the harder this becomes.

Have fun.

Probably a mod bug, this mod hasnt been adjusted for 4 years (and havent played as2 for a long time aswel) and its not unlikely that in the meatime there had been a few changes to the audiosurf engine which might have caused these issues. And at the same time, its also track dependant so i might have just been lucky with not witnessing this.

You need to get rid of the loops, they're self intersecting and makes avoiding greys unnecessarily difficult.

Thank you. The mod should be up soon, then.

Do you mind if I use your function for clearing grey blocks and keeping score for my own mod as long as I attribute them to you? The mod essentially makes ninja-mono from Audiosurf 1 much harder by speeding it up and adding more greys.

Does this have the original speed too?

Please include side-swipe functionality of colored blocks. I have no idea why this was taken out of the game by default in all modes, because it feels incredibly awkward.

actually would u like to make a iron mode for this ancient mode ?
It was really great and fresh my feeling back while i'm playing AS1
but without iron mode is a little bit uncomfortable.

I think both numbers have their merits, though it really depends on what you like. Taking away fewer points means that you can use the ability more often (which makes the game slightly easier), though in AS1 the time limit between uses kept you from just spamming it. On the other hand, taking away more points encourages you to wait until the board is filled more before using the ability.

Really either works, because the real penalty for hitting a grey is the loss of points you get from losing your combo, as well as the loss of the stealth bonus. Next to that, both 11 and 777 are nothing.

That screen IS Audiosurf 1, Freshly Reinstalled and as updated as it can be.
