Ship Master Computer

Description
For testing purposes.

The Ship Master Computer offers Servers the abilities to put technology or consumables behind a branching research tree.
The Ship Master computer is also used to produce any item research grants, bypassing assemblers alltogether.

Whem accessed for the first time, the Ship Master Computer will generate three files: A Default Faction setup file, a global reward list, and if the user is in a faction, a separate file for that faction.

Everything the computer produces is customizable, and can be used with any mod. It will not limit or modifiy recipies on it's own, as each server will want to customize it in their own way.

The computer can produce three kinds of items: Research, Components, and Consumables. Consumables, such as Medpacks, and Components, such as steel plates or any special 'component' you decide to lock a block behind, and Research.

Research can only be undertaken by faction Leaders or Founders. Research grants and removes any number of permissions to an entire faction. This may include additional research, access to components or consumables.

By default this mod has very little, server admins *must* customize the global master list and default faction file to gain much use out of this.

Why would you want to use this?

Say you want factions to have dedicated roles.
A Transport Faction might be the only faction to have access to large-ship large hydrogen thrusters, and a special long range jump drive.

You would need to modify the Hydrogen Thruster to use a special component (such as Basic Hydrogen Upgarde Parts) that you create.

The faction would then research the trade faction tech tree. Depending on the server, this may remove the possibility to research other tech (such as forbidding research into Combat tech). This has the distinct advantage of encouraging trade and specialization.

To use the block, you must be in a faction. Then, turn on research, and select what you'd like to research or craft. The computer will begin producing the item. Currently, this does not require any materials.
After enough time has passed, what happens next depends on what you've selected:
If it's research, upon clicking "Fabricate" the research tree will be upgraded, and your faction will gain access to whatever new technology is available to them (and lose access to anything as well).
If it is an item, you can let the computer produce multiple items before clicking Fabricate.

**Note** The item does not exist until you hit "Fabricate".

As this is still in its early stages, there will be bugs. This is a work in progress, and feedback or suggestions are encouraged.

If you are running a server with this mod, I'd love to hear your feedback!

seems to crash the part of the mod that keeps track of progress if i put a second block down in the world.

Couple options there. You could modify turrets to require a component only the computer can use, or you could set the fabrication time of the ammo to something fairly long, so it can produce small amounts over time, but using an assembler could be faster.

This is amazing, thanks so much for your work into this! Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. In the master research tree at the moment, there is no reward for combat research, so I was thinking what would be the appropriate reward for that tech. The nicest solution would be by putting ammunition into the research tree, but it's not ideal to have the computer as the only source of ammo, especially since you don't have to spend resources fabricating it. Did you have any thoughts about how best to handle this?

This is AWESOME!

I have no use for it at all, but the game has needed this, since forever.

Research governing tools have been sorely needed in SE!
