Automated Drilling!
Because, why stand around a drill all day? You've got better things to do!

Speed based on a lv10 miner. (5.5hr drilling steel)
Output yield scales with vanilla difficulty.

  • Basic AutoDrill
    a simple automated drill

  • Giant AutoDrill
    Extracts resources in bulk, sacrificing efficiency which depletes deep-crust mineral deposits quickly. Wasteful, but gets you lots of resources fast.
    • Can extract multiple stone chunks (average of 3.5 per cycle)

    Large, 4r (49 tiles)
    Avg. Cycle
    7 hours

    200% of vanilla
    Consumption
    300% of vanilla

  • Smart AutoDrill
    Utilizes advanced mining techniques as to not waste mineral deposits; highly efficienct. It's very slow but will yield far more resources over time.
    • can't cause infestation
    • can't extract stone chunks.

    12 hours
    Output
    100% of vanilla

    30% of vanilla

    1/0.3 (333%)


Note: resource Efficiency determines how many resources the drill can extract from a mineral deposit before exhausting it. The Giant AutoDrill consumes more than it outputs and wastes potential resources in exchange for higher-volume output in the short-term, where as the Smart AutoDrill is does the opposite.

well I had some difficulty updating it due to all the namespace changes and I just kind of abandoned it now. Sourcecode is included, if anyone else wants to go nuts with it

@Aion Algos I think it still may be balanced via the issue of infestations spawning, so I don't think it'd be too bad. (Excited to see a port of this for 1.1 all the same)
Perhaps add some fancy-pants materials in to the autodrill requirements? Late game pawns would still outperform anyhow from being above level 10.
