Description
The Imperator Class Mobile Command Dreadnought was designed from the ground up to be the de facto dominating force in any theater it is deployed to. As its name implies, this dreadnought is most often used as the personal flagships of naval admiralty, and is so large that it suffices as a mobile forward base of operations. The vessel is equipped with atmospheric drop bays, orbital lances, and a host of capital-class space weaponry, and is therefore more than able to handle any tactical situation or assist in any military role. Furthermore, the twin booms on the forward section of the Imperator comprises a scaled-down variable-focus Hyper Wave Buster Cannon capable of fleet-wide disintegration or planetary devastation. With this capital weapon alone, the arrival of an Imperator Class Dreadnought into any contested area usually signals a significant elevation of hostilities.

(NOTE: Hyper Wave Buster Cannon not functional in-game, just a lore-building element)


"Yeah, I saw an Imperator once. We'd just cleared the void bay of the Abraxis and I was trying to stay on course. It ain't an unusal thing for a dropship pilot to come screaming out of a void bay in the middle of a space battle, nope. Sure, it's scary the first couple of times, but then you know you've got your Razgriz or Raiden starfighter escort, so you're all set. Only this time, my HUD's telling me that my escort squadron up and died on me in the first 20 seconds of descent. I'm like 'OK, not the first time, I can handle this, yep'. Then suddenly it was like the battle stopped all around me for a few seconds. I found my atmospheric entry no problemo. I kind of thought it was just one of those weird things you hallucinate when you're on combat high, but then my HUD'S telling me that something nasty-big just tore outta warp into the middle of our orbital battlefield. USS Longshanks. Im-pera-tor Class. Big sucker, too. Heard of 'em before. Never seen one of 'em before that day, though. Never seen one since. But damn, didn't everyone just stop whatever they were doing to have a gander at it. Glad it was on our side."

@mistermichael4420, in the old build when this was designed, I don't think there was any feasible support for the functionality you mentioned (I think this was made right before the Raptor Ice Cream build?). I should come back.

i dont see any reason u shouldent have they hyper cannon work, make it take a long time to charge up so its not kill everything in 3 sec or make it use comsumable item to work , but have it in the game woould make it much cooler :)

Thank you MISTERdazzling. I will hang the cookie on the wall in honor of this achievement. Hopefully now that the Master's Thesis is done, I can get back to more shipbuilding.

Design is alright. I have few complaints though. Way to much sensor range. It gets a bit laggy when you have every single space rock on your map at once. As for the weapons they are alright and have a good GTAR (Gun To Area Ratio) making the chances of a hit better. The design is fine. Also this is not that big of a ship compared to what i have seen. Overall a 6/10 on this ship.
