A Fable of Wave and Particle

Description
Speedwalk: https://youtu.be/l7qscRm_58I

Important Note: Speeding up the game just before a cut-scene is triggered might break it.

List of triggers that are affected:
Toward the town: Molotov thrower torches themselves..Survivor dialogue.
Entering the town: Female survivor and SWAT cutscene. Lower window blocks the sniper's laser.
Second building: Molotov thrower torches himself when entering the room.
When entering the stairwell: Mad Scientist's dialogue.
After getting the explosion mutation: Gertrude.
Stairwell to the left lab: Tour guide.
Entering the left lab: The female scientist running away.
Left lab's: Elevator sinks a tile too far into the ground.
Daft Punk's dialogues are off-timing, the waypoints looks logical but it's has a weird offset.
Agent patrol near the laser platform walks off-path at times.
Brain Boss breaks and does not fire laser beams. :(

The game is much easier if controls are rebinded. Game speed can be mapped.
I use the number pad 0-9 for mutations and / * for game speed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Miscellaneous
There is a limit to the number of zombie spawned in the boss rooms.
Gunner - 74.
Brain - 90 + 90. (After a short delay, the zombies stops spawning when the boss is defeated.)

Remember to keep a zombie by the sewer entrance. (To enter the left lab.)
Or 2 units on the stairwell toward the Brain Boss. (Contamination could be used if units are too far away.)

It's possible to kill the swat team at the start instead of going above by jump-landing on top of them.
The cutscene to the town can be skipped by jumping over the building.

The priest has a special dialogue if you head backwards at the start. :)

The Gunner boss is optional.
The shotgunner in the building is a mini-puzzle. Wait for him to be near a door before activating them, use an overlord if needed. Jumping dodges gunner's bullets and gets you right on top of them.

Overlord + explosion is useful against in the headquarters and against droids.

Skip the mini-bosses like Ronald till explosives or better mutations are available.

Scream + overlord mutation where the laser platform is bypasses many obstacles into the lab on the right.

Gertrude can be beaten without tanks. (The priest's flame kills Gertrude instantly.) Getting the contamination early might mess the left lab's door triggers up but it's still possible to get around. (Only happens if the mutation is used to skip the cut-scene that triggers by the normal elevator route.)

There're secret lumberjack spawns from the forest after killing Gertrude and heading back to town. Warning: There is an invisible trap that kills everything on the way to the cathedral (going uphill) when Gertrude spawns to prevent glitches.

The path to DNA canisters are hidden. Look for walls/ceilings without a lighter edge.

A crawler is needed to reach Daft Punk. Hover the explosive mutation over it as it crawls into the vent. It turns around at the far end, leap before that happens. (Keep track of what happens by hovering around with the explosive mutation.) They teleport to the roof of the building with three hostages.

Speedrun Routes
Route 1
Building > Speed > Left lab > Upper contamination mutation > Infect near Motherbrain & overlord explode for the scientist > Defeat Gunner > Send two crawlers up right, head down the stairwell > Vent into the Right lab for the last scientist > Defeat Brain Boss.

Route 2
Building (stockpile all but one zombie on the stairwell instead of sending them to the right) > Crawler and explosion > Speed > Left lab > Upper contamination > Gertrude (zombie run, jump, overlord explode for the priest) > Contaminate near both scientists > Gunner > Brain Boss.

Route 3
Building > Speed > Left lab > Upper contamination mutation > Break wall behind throne to open the lift door > Stockpile behind lift door > Crawler to the lift > Overlord explode your way to the mad scientist (two on both sides kills him) > Head toward the right lab for the last scientist > Skip Gunner and contaminate where the brain boss is > End

Convoluted Route
Building > Speed mutation > Left lab (Skip everything above, hold some zombies in the stairwell) > Gunner Boss > Send two crawlers to the Brain >

Left lab > Destroy camera or speed-boost through cannon > Get zombie door > optional overlord/crawler jump explode for scream mutation > Stockpile near lift door >

Stairwells below Gunner > Throw overlord + explode or scream near Red hood lady > Overlord explode to reveal stairs so that zombies wouldn't fall to their death > Head down the stairwell > Turn on acid switch > Destroy camera or turret with jump + explode > Destroy generator above > Get one zombie through the laser platform > destroy the lift door's generator OR blow through the throne room from the left lab to destroy the generator easily >

Stairwells below Gunner > Crawler vent into the lower right lab, trigger camera to alert the guard > Get zombie door, control room's generator & tank mutation > Kill the scientist >

Back to the left lab, Crawler up to activate locked door, enter lift > Overlord explode constantly, spit, scream or use a tank.> Kill the scientist > Defeat the Brain boss with two crawlers above. End.

This is definitely one of my most favorite ZNT levels, along with it being the biggest ZNT level I played in! Both in scale and the amount of content it has! Although, due to its length... messing up towards the end can be painful. Nevertheless, the difficulty, I would say... is about moderate!

the best map i played in znt

ah alright thanks :D

Probably not. @berserker

It doesn't lag unless there are more than 200+ units in total. It might happen if the boss room's zombie spawn door is opened and left alone. There is a limit and they stop spawning after the boss is defeated but the amount is generous. Sacrifice if needed. @Puppet_Master

i wonder, will you do more levels?
Loyalist 30 Sep, 2020 @ 12:40am

I only re-rigged switch that opens the door to the room on the left, nothing more lol.

The numberpad is not the default control. It can be edited in the settings.
I use / and * for slow and speedup (Moving left twice pauses the game), 0-9 for mutations. Alphabets work too. :frog:

An author who gives detailed responses AND feedback? Man, you're my new role model. I gotta try this whole "responding to your community" thing out someday. I'll give the level another shot when I got the free time, I'm interested to see what you did to make it optional. I didn't even know about numberpad gamespeed and mutation controls, outside of clicking mutations and spamming spacebar.

Thank you for the feedback~ @thonk
I'll have to rebalance the difficulty past the Gunner someday, the jumps are definitely finnicky. (Edit: The room is now optional.)

Reinstalling the game, the editor file came from cloud. Hopefully nothing was broken.
