It doesn't lag unless there are more than 200+ units in total. It might happen if the boss room's zombie spawn door is opened and left alone. There is a limit and they stop spawning after the boss is defeated but the amount is generous. Sacrifice if needed. @Puppet_Master
The numberpad is not the default control. It can be edited in the settings.
I use / and * for slow and speedup (Moving left twice pauses the game), 0-9 for mutations. Alphabets work too.
I'll have to rebalance the difficulty past the Gunner someday, the jumps are definitely finnicky. (Edit: The room is now optional.)

Reinstalling the game, the editor file came from cloud. Hopefully nothing was broken.
Previous map: DNA canisters are hidden by a secret passage. The walls/ceilings can be spotted without the "light gray edge". The one in the crawler section can be reached by jumping up the wall before the first sawblade and jumping backwards.

I exploited this shortcut to the switch and forgot how annoying the room was, even when using a numberpad for gamespeed and mutation controls (without which, makes things much harder).
About halfway through the level at the moment, and so far so good! I love the clever way of fighting the bosses with, rather than brute forcing it with piles upon piles of zombies, using my brain to hit switches and use neat lil game mechanics to break windows. Very fun and thought out! Also love the details for such a massive level. 169 hours well spent! I felt genuine accomplishment when beating the gunner and H.A.L. One issue, however, is the crawler puzzle right after H.A.L's boss fight is really. REALLY. Finnicky. Cost me an entire run, demotivated me a lot. The crawler timing is weird, the jumps are weird, and I don't know how you'd get the DNA canister. Another issue with these hugely long, big levels. They look daunting, demotivating, confusing, and if you die somewhere along the way? You restart the WHOLE. THING. Very upsetting.
So far? 8/10.
