ShatteredOmega's Side-Scrollers
2 items
Description
Side-scrolling spring-stimulation simulation. Bounce on the springs and stay as high as possible to gain maximum score.

-Different coloured springs bounce you different heights
-You keep a certain amount of momentum when falling on to a spring from height - so the higher your fall on to a spring the higher it will bounce you.
-You can bounce multiple times on the same spring at slower points in a song.
-The catcher webs steal your vertical speed - but sometimes can be used to your advantage.
-The higher you are, the faster your score increases.
-You also receive a % bonus at the end based on your maximum height reached during the track.

There's more side-scrollers in the collection above.

Awesome mod! Feels a bit like those toss launcher games from Newgrounds.

Is the handling better in my mod Scramble? I made it bump to the music less in that.

The less the music affects the track, the less it feels like the track is actually making a difference to gameplay - that would be my only concern.

If anyone wants to try some experimental versions of this (and some other experimental stuff like Pinball), let me know and add me to Friends.

Agree with Gatan45, just a hair too slow, and it felt like I was on a boat sailing in the wind. For example, the ball feels too slow to catch up to a platform to the left, so your best bet is basically to leap of faith it to the right and hope a spring comes along to keep you aloft. It would also be helpful to increase the object generation rate a tad as well, I had to play an almost insane song to get a good amount to show up.

I think you've got a great idea here. I'd recommend making the little ball move faster and also makingthe track premanently flat if at all possible. I was finding the sporatic movement of the track was throwing me off and the slowness of the ball was really messing me up. If you changed those two things i think this would be a fantastic mod!

Hey ShatteredOmega, I actually kinda figgured that after I got back to the game for another attempt at finding out how to, seeing a spring at the bottom, but thank you for your help anyway. P.S. I love your work! :)

Hey MysterySteve, you need to wait for a spring on the bottom to appear - no need to jump. It should be 1 in 4 springs appearing on the bottom but if it's a quiet start it might be a little while before one appears.

I can't figure out how to jump to get on the springs. someone please help.

Yeah there was like 20 in air for it to finally get a bottom one and it made me confused until I hit it.

In theory every 3rd-4th should be a bottom spring but if the song's not generating many it can take a while for first launch.
