Description
An improved remote miner for atmospheric operations, Nexus Omnium has taken the wildly successful SRD011.2 chassis and made some minor structural alterations, reconfigured the control interface and components, and added a drill. These changes make the SRD011.3 significantly more stable during operations and the additional drill speeds up the mining process.

Features:
- 50km antenna range.
- 45 minute operational time, roughly 25 minute recharge. Two per drone operator can guarantee continuous operations.
- 10,892 kg mass, can haul 30k kg loads under normal gravity.
- Drill configuration ensures it creates a larger hole than it is, allowing for easy mining operations without worrying about confining spaces.
- A camera facing the connector for easy docking.

Note:
If used in Creative, this BP works exactly as intended. If used in survival, this BP will not automatically build the subgrid thrust nacelles. This is a relatively easy fix. To exactly match the BP as it stands, the following steps need to be made:

1) Acknowledge the warning that the BP uses subgrids and build anyways, including completing the rotors and rotorheads.
2) On each rotor head, build a blast door edge so that the slope is facing outboard from the drone.
3) On both sides of this blast door edge, place a small atmospheric thruster, each facing the same direction (pictured above).
4) Go to the PB, which should have Vector Thrust 2 pre-loaded in it. Simply hit "Compile," then "Save."
5) Ensure that the PB command is loaded on the RC bar (it should be). When using it, I always performed a short "pre-flight check," which simply consisted of taking command of the drone, running the jetpack command (which toggles the thrusters, should be on the bar), then doing a quick left/right/up/down (WASD+Space+C) thrust check to ensure the nacelles moved correctly before detaching and viewing through the camera.
6) Enjoy a super-cheap, early-game mining drone! Flight performance actually becomes much more stable under a load, interestingly enough.

Added a changelog section and a notes section, which includes a short explanation of the Survival troubleshooting.

Enjoy, everyone!

@Lactose the Intolerant - after fully constructing the drone, you need to open up the PB that should already be loaded with Vector Thrust 2. Compile it again, save it, and it will now recognize the thrusters.

The PB command on the remote control (button two, if I remember correctly) will run the argument to initialize the thrusters.

How do I get the engines to work? When put on the rotor they just spin in circles.

Thanks for the permission. Here's a look if you're interested.

@AFilthyNeutral - absolutely. I'm glad you're that happy with it.

@Neraph

Would it be possible to republish this as part of a mod for starting rovers and ships? With due credit of course.

I'll take that into consideration and likely do an update reflecting that. The second picture clearly shows the subgrids as well. I am pretty bad at picture editing, so adding that might be decent enough practice I guess.

On my Twitch, I built this thing during the Lost Colony scenario. The script will sometimes act funny when turning off or on thrusters, so I learned pretty quick to take the battery off recharge, disconnect, turn on thrusters, reset the PB, and do a quick wiggle test before each flight. It's like 4 buttons and a jiggle, but it saves you from losing the drone into a cliff or something.

It's not, because blueprints don't allow sub-grids (the rotors in your case) to be created. Gives a nice error in fact because of that. On the survival world I play on, I got said message and without anything in the description above (would be handy to mention), I had no idea what part(s) you may have had on sub-grids nor what I needed to build manually to fix that issue. I did, after reading your message create a creative game real quick to spawn it in, and I do agree it's an easy fix, unlike many other vehicle makers out there, but I really would encourage you to mention somewhere that for it to be survival ready, you will need to add bits to it - Including a couple pics of the affected areas would be very useful too, as we are not familiar with your design.

FWIW - Once I saw what was needed and added it, it is a very easy, low resource to make and effective drone, very cool!

How not? I built it on survival, that's where the BP came from. For the thruster nacelles you just put an armor block sandwiched by two thrusters and let the script take care of it.

Not survival friendly FYI for anyone wondering..
