Intro:
Did you ever want to find Assault Rifles in the trees? Maybe just something more reasonable, like Black Pearls in oysters or Aberration gems in crystals.

Description:
Remaps resource nodes with a customizable version.

The main purpose of this mod is to allow any resources(my intentions were DLC resources) to be harvested on the island, without adding in specific resource nodes.

Compatible with stack mods.

How does it work? You add any item to any harvesting component. ie: Sand and Salt from rocks, Black Pearls from oysters, etc. These resources are in addition to the resources normally generated.

Features:
  • Fully configurable via ini settings.
  • Allows any item to be harvestable from almost any resource node at almost any rate with an optional percent chance of occurring.

How to Use:
Add ini configs to GameUserSettings.ini with the following format:
[CustomHarvesting]
Crystal=10.0,/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Resources/PrimalItemResource_BlackPearl.PrimalItemResource_BlackPearl
This will result in Crystal veins giving 10x as many Black Pearls as you get Crystal. If you mined 50 crystal, you'd also get 500 Black Pearls.

[CustomHarvesting]
Obsidian=0,0.01,/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Resources/PrimalItemResource_Element.PrimalItemResource_Element
You'll notice the multiplier in this example is 0. Well, that would be pointless, so whenever the multiplier may result in a partial number, it's interpreted as 1. You can't get half an item.
In this example, when mining Obsidian you have a 1% chance to receive 1 Element.

Bushes=2.0,/Game/Mods/BetterBloodbags/PrimalItemConsumable_BloodPack_BetterBloodbags.PrimalItemConsumable_BloodPack_BetterBloodbags,0.5,/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Resources/PrimalItemResource_BlackPearl.PrimalItemResource_BlackPearl
This will result in bushes giving you 2x as many Better Blood Bags, a mod item, as you get berries and half as many Black Pearls. If you picked 100 berries, you'd also get 200 Blood Bags and 50 Black Pearls.

Optional Config Format:
You can add a second argument, in decimal form, representing the percent chance for the additional resources to be harvested. 0.25 = 25%, 0.80 = 80%, etc.

Crystal=10.0,0.25,/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Resources/PrimalItemResource_BlackPearl.PrimalItemResource_BlackPearl
This will result in Crystal veins giving 10x as many Black Pearls as you get Crystal, but you will only get them 25% of the time you mine Crystal veins.

Components Explained:
  • Silicon = Oysters, hand pickup
  • Metal = Regular and Rich Metal Veins
  • Oil = Oil nodes found on land
  • OceanOil = Oil nodes in the ocean. Some maps use regular Oil nodes in the ocean.
  • Stone = Small and Large boulders as well as river rocks. Does NOT include beach pebbles.
  • SwampTrees = Trees in the Swamp, aka Mangroves. Wood is replaced by Fungal Wood.
  • Trees = All trees, other than Swamp Trees.
  • ElementOre = Aberration Element Ore nodes.
  • BlackPearls = Ragnarok/etc Black Pearl nodes, hand pickup.
  • StoneRiver = River rocks.
  • StonePickup = Little pebbles, typically on the beach, that you can pickup.
  • Bones = Aberration, Scorched, etc. Giant bone piles.
  • Cactus = Small and Big cacti.
  • CityDecorations = Extinction lamps, benches, tables, etc.
  • Coral = Coral that can be mined(genesis)
  • ElementShards = Red crystals that give shards(genesis) or the small blue/green crystals on Crystal Isles.
  • LunarStone = Most stone variants that also give ambergris(genesis)
  • GenesisMushrooms = A wide array of harvestable mushrooms
  • CrystalIslesAnthill = Ant hills found on crystal isles
  • CrystalIslesHoney = Giant harvestable beehives found on crystal isles

Notes:

Warning:
  • The multiplier isn't perfect. Test settings before deploying to a server.
  • There is a natural variance in place when harvesting to make the numbers seem more natural. As such, the harvested values won't be exactly as expected.

The order of parameters matters.
component=multiplier,percent_chance_to_occur,item_to_harvest
If you do it in any other order, I'm sure bad things will happen.

No way to configure the Aberration gem veins (Red) specifically? I wanted to add element to them.

Just that aspect of S+ is incompatible with what this mod does. :(

Hi, really thanks for your mod, I have one question here,
Every function is fine in my server, but I could not use harvester from S+ to get what I have stetted in the ini file. I mean, I could get black pearl while I mine the metal with my char, but my harvester couldn't done the same thing, is there anything I need to be aware of?

This mod replaces the components that are responsible for harvesting. As such, it isnt compatible with mods that do the same thing. Likely one or both of those mods you listed is likely doing that.

As for removing resources, no. It was designed to augment harvesting, not totally replace it.

I just figured, when using "The Hunted" some of the preset vanilla components do not work. In your "Custom Dino Loot" mod you allow setting up loot drops by searching for string variants(*hesperonis*, *para* etc.), could something like that be done with "Custom Harvesting" as well? As far as I checked "The Hunted" keeps the same naming convention, only adding "DA_" as pre tag. So "CrystalHarvestComponent_C" becomes "DA_CrystalHarvestComponent_C". As far as I understand all of the resources are replaced by "The Hunted", as I haven't found one that works like vanilla.

Also, it may very well be that the mod "Island Extension: Resources" is causing the issue, since it customizes the name of Crystal to distribute it across The Island. Issue could be solved the same way using string tagging.

Also, also, can we actually use "Custom Harvesting" to make some vanilla elements never show up on harvesting?

@rooibaard86 Add this code at the bottom of your GameUserSettings.ini file:

[CustomHarvesting]
Metal=1.0,/Game/Extinction/CoreBlueprints/Resources/PrimalItemResource_ElementDust.PrimalItemResource_ElementDust

This code gives you 1 Element Dust for each 1 Metal you harvest from metal nodes.

Hi Guys need some help, we have a vanilla like server on lost island all i want to do is add some element dust when mining metal nothing else can someone maybe just give me the example i can copy and paste

This remaps harvesting comps and only harvesting comps. It doesnt touch weapons, items, tools, etc, to any degree.

Hey Quell, I'm getting an issue on my Kanga Hunted server when this is installed. When certain tools break, they give all sorts of whacky resources to me based on what I configured for this mod. :steamfacepalm: They don't normally give anything upon breaking. I know I'm running a few mods that touch harvest components, loaded before as well as after this mod. Mainly this happens when I make Kanga's Gravel drop from Stone and StoneRiver. It's been happening for quite awhilw, just came back from taking a long break from ARK. :pengwing:
