TTT Custom Roles EMU

Description
Overview
NOTE: Continued development of this Custom Roles pack is now in an unlisted Test Workshop item. I will provide the link per request

This is a custom version of TTT w/ Roles, it adds new items, roles, adjustments to existing roles, and expanding customizations/configurations for server owners. It is meant for smaller communities between 5-12 players, with persistent Karma.

NOTE: Must be played along side the required mods mentioned in the side bar which are included in our Steam Collection. Many mod items are not implicitly included, this is just modifications to the Custom Role codebase

Credit to the Original Custom Role Mod that this expands upon. If you haven't, I recommend playing that first before trying this mod, as we add more complexity to the experience.

What's Changed?

Game Mechanics
Health Pots - Enables Health Pots that spawn randomly around the map to encourage exploration. This is an experimental feature and off by default. See CVARs under Other for more.

Innocent Roles

Detective
  • Many new items/gadgets at their disposal (see Items)
  • Actually gets a Knife when turned to a zombie
  • Additional investigation abilities for Cult (see new roles)

Mercenary
  • May purchase Barnacles
  • May purchase Boomerangs
  • May purchase Grappling hook


Traitor Roles

Traitor
  • Many new items/gadgets at their disposal (see items)

Hypnotist
  • Starts with a Poison Ray, a DoT gun that can apply stackable poison but is not lethal (ends at 1hp).
  • May purchase stun-guns after receiving credits
  • CVARs for revive time

Vampire
  • Fang Right-click now attacks. On a single successful attack against an enemy, it causes a Bite effect and the vanilla invisible effect occurs for a longer duration. This Bite acts as a DOT, damaging the victim 8 hp every 5 seconds (configurable). If the victim is not killed by other means and is reduced to 0 HP by the Bite, they turn into a Vampire
  • Fixed Fang invisibility activation preventing the Vampire from switching to another weapon until the invisibility duration was complete. Vamp can freely switch back to the knife and will go invisible if the charge bar is not full
  • Vampire sprint is incredibly fast while wielding Fangs
  • Vampire's Eat Corpse ability provides 100 HP up to a max of 200 hp (configurable)
  • Vampire's Eat Corpse ability provides 1 extra Bite after successfully consuming a corpse
  • Beware fellow Vamps, the Remington pistol does 2.5x damage to Vampires!

Assassin
  • The Assassin now inherently gets radar on their target that updates at 10 second intervals (as opposed to vanilla radar's 30). The radar will switch to new targets upon next interval

Zombie
  • Zombie knife damage has been increased from 50 to 100 damage
  • Beware fellow Zombies, The Remington pistol does 2.5x damage to Zombies!



What's New

Innocents

Bouncer Role
  • Starts with 175 HP
  • Starts with Home-run Bat


EMT Role
  • New Innocent role EMT, formally known as Medic
  • Starts with defibrillator, which may be used once to revive a dead terry. Unlike the hypno brainwash device, the revived player will respawn as the role they died as
  • Defibrillator should look and operate identically to the brainwash device, making it difficult to tell the difference between an EMT and a Hypno
  • After a successful revive, EMT receives the Heal Ray, which provides healing over time to players hit

Neutrals

Cultist
  • Cultist drops Shrines (barrels) that non-detective innocents are called to and can pledge at to convert to the Cult
  • Innocents who pledge at the Shrine convert to the Cult neutral team and are able to identify other cultists. Once pledged, they are now against other innocents as well as traitors
  • Cultist win condition is similar to Killer: defeat the remaining innocents and traitors
  • Detective's can see how many players have used a shrine at a glance. If a Detective uses the shrine, they will begin investigating and eventually be given the names of those who pledged at that specific shrine. Afterwards, the shrine becomes desecrated and can still be used but future pledgers will be notified a detective investigated it.


Notable Items

What's Next?
  • Let the meta absorb the new changes. Then possibly one more neutral role... a true neutral role >:)
  • More customization options available for server

Known Issues
  • You must play with Letter icons. Symbol icons have not been created for newer roles
  • Some scoreboard icons won't show up correctly if people change roles more than once in a single round. i.e. Merc -> Cultist -> Vampire

Pressing tab makes it so that the top half of the leader/karma board stays on screen no matter what, everytime i spawn in it shows that i am Mercenary despite my role being different on the end of round board and my role just being different in general.

Hey, im testing out ttt stuff for my group and every time i log in solo im stuck as mercenary, even when i use the code to change roles. Is that because im solo, or is it some glitch

Just a heads up, EMT has basically been implemented in the new Custom Roles as Paramedic, and Bouncer and Cultist have been launched as external roles

There is a config for the Hypno DOT dmg/interval, but not to disable it. There is no config for vamp speed, Though I do have a config for it on the test branch. I haven't moved the newest version to release in some time. I plan to once some of the extra features are ironed out.

Is there a way to turn off the Hypnotist's DoT ray and make the Vampire's fangs less fast with commands/config?

I don't usually use ULX command so I can't speak to that, and I don't know how that is coded in relation to TTT custom roles. If you didn't get any new roles, then either you don't have enough players to hit the minimum or the mod isn't loaded on your server. You should review the CVARs.
