Khopesh Guardian

Description
This mod replaces the Guardian’s sword with a khopesh, including the Excavation and the Sword Bearers. It always annoyed me that it looked more like a Roman gladius than an Egyptian sword.

Sorry, I was thinking daggers, it looks like an egyptian dagger, not an egyptian sword, the egyptian straight sword looked more like the hypaspist's default sword.

I like the curve sword a lot, even if Egyptians had straight swords a curved sword is a rare and good feature to AOM

I said it looks similar to a gladius. I did a bit of research prior to releasing this mod and couldn't find any pre-khopesh Egyptian swords, if what you say is true then I'll have to do more research.

Um, it's not a gladius, it's an egyptian straight sword, they egyptians had straight swords. They only adopted the khopesh after their war with the caananites.

Not saying they are exclusive, the animal is all around the world, the name still is due to our ships and in game map, Atlantis is azores so they used as a reference. Have no mythological connection agreed, but neither Behemoths, is a biblical "animal" or colossus.

Was the way they choosed to go, for me isn't bad. They had better solutions like Sirens in my opinion

@Hyena
That's actually the picture I used as a reference when remodeling the sword. The sword is thicker than it looks in the screenshot and I think it's perfect the way it is.

@Cannibalh
Portuguese man o' wars are not exclusive to the Portuguese islands of Azores and Madeira though, they can be found in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. Even if Azores is geographically similar to Atlantis, I still don't see the relation between man o' wars and the myth of Atlantis or Greek mythology.

Great work Nick, like always is a really cool design

To clarify something here about Atlantean

Atlantlis where, in much of the books I studied like Lusiadas, Azores which is the island of Acores in Portugal ( can't write it correct due to my keyboard right now ) even in game the map is near Portugal

Donkeys, Man O' War ( Caravela Portuguesa ) and many features represent our culture

Yes, Man O' War is totaly part of our ancient history due to our ships is a dam long story

or something like your khopesh mod?
Seti 22 Mar, 2020 @ 11:58am
khopesh fits much better than the roman sword :)
the texture is historically accurate, but it kind of looks fragile when a huge unit wields it.
would u consider exaggerating it and make it thicker?
maybe like this? [banner2.kisspng.com]

Ah, that's unfortunate. I was hoping there'd be some way to rework it purely visually but I guess not.

Still, thank you for replying. I will continue to enjoy your work!
