Description
Complete Flag Overhaul First I made that mod only for myself, but after multiple requests, I will publish it here...

Complete Flag Overhaul Mod - Ironman compatible, Archievements can be earned!

  • Every single Flag has an aged and venerable background overlay added.

  • A lot of Flags (Mostly in Europe, due to better sources) got changed to be more historically accurate.

  • Colonial Nations Flags are improved: The Overlord will be in the top left corner.

No DLCs required!

Changed Flags in alphabetical order:

  1. Aachen
    Changed to the historical imperial eagle
  2. Andalusia
    Changed to the historical flag patter
  3. Albania
    Added the Symbol used by the independent Albania at that time
  4. Aquileia
    Slightly modified the Eagle
  5. Aragon
    Added the Flag of the integrated Sicilian Kingdom
  6. Augsburg
    Changed to the Imperial Free City Coat of Arms
  7. Avignon
    Altered to the historical key Symbol
  8. Bourbonnais
    Added more fleurs-de-lis in the Background
  9. Bremen
    Altered the historical key symbol
  10. Brunswick
    Corrected the colours to match the historical Coat of Arms
  11. Burgundy
    Inspired by MEIOU & Taxes, used the Burgundian Flag that was used at the time
  12. Canada
    Updated to the Flag with Union Jack in one corner
  13. Cornwall
    Changed to the historical Coat of Arms
  14. Denmark
    Altered to the Danish three Lions
  15. Ferrara
    The coat of Arms of the Duchy of Ferrara, the Family D'Este
  16. France
    The blue fleurs-de-lis Banner
  17. Frankfurt
    New Imperial Free City Banner
  18. Gelre
    Altered the Proportions and the Lions
  19. Germany
    Altered the Proportions and the Coat of Arms in the middle
  20. Granada
    Changed to the pomegranade symbol that was used by the Al-Andalus
  21. Iceland
    The flag of the Kingdom of Iceland, as a dependancy of the Kingdom of Norway
  22. Ireland
    Changed to the Flag of the Kingdom of Ireland, rather than a republican Flag
  23. Lübeck
    Added the Coat of Arms to the Flag
  24. Magdeburg
    Added the Coat of Arms to the Flag
  25. Moldavia
    Altered the Colours to match the historical Flag
  26. Münster
    Altered the colours to the historical bishopric of Müster
  27. Poland
    Corrected the Polish Eagle
  28. Portugal
    Added the crown and white Background for the Portugal Coat of Arms
  29. Pskov
    Changed the Flag to the historical Principality of Pskov
  30. Russia
    Added the Imperial Colours as well as a more detailed Russian Eagle
  31. Savoy
    Removed the letters in favour of the historical cross
  32. Scandinavia
    Added the Symbol of the three crowns of the Kalmar Union
  33. Sweden
    Changed to the crown-coat of arms instead of the modern Flag
  34. Tirol
    Modified the Eagle of Tirol to the historical one
  35. Venice
    Changed the Symbol to the red Coat of Arms
  36. Verden
    Completely changed the Flag to the bishopric of Verden

@The Armchair General: Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to me :)

I guess in this case I have let my personal preferences rule over the historical facts. You are right, the (in my eyes dull) version of the red-white-red flag was used in most of the EU4 timeframe. So I reverted it back to the original :(
You might need to unsub and sub again to force steam to re-download the mod and update the file.

If you want to modify other flags, feel free to add me here on steam, so I can message you the overlay-file, if you want. Its really not that hard to do :shflag:

Hey man, I love your mod. I was wondering if maybe you could change the Austrian flag back to the vanilla one but with the rugged overlay. This is since most of the flags in the mod are coat of arms anyway and the black and yellow flag wasn't used until the 18th century. I'd do it myself but the mod I used to use which had the same rugged overlay is in a .bin format and I can't seem to access the tga files of that mod. I'd really appreciate it if you can upload a separate mod or change the one in this one. :KneelingBow:

@jragir As the Napoleonic Age is only a very very late part of the game, I would like to stick to the historical flags of the most prominent eras.
However: I can see myself using the white Bourbon French Flag instead of the current blue one..?
