I was thinking,
.... "I wonder what my Brutal Combat mission would play like on some of the existing maps in the workshop?"

With that in mind I made a passing comment to Aussie in the forums...

"Hi Aussie,
I'd love to see what my Brutal Combat mission template would play like on some of your maps."

He was very gratuitous and replied...

"Hi TJ, feel free to download any map you want and change it to how you see fit."

What I discovered...

As I don't really play PvP, i was familiar with, but somewhat unfamiliar with playing on Aussies maps.
I found that they are rich in detail, and simply roaming and exploring the maps, was a rewarding experience within itself. As those who are familiar with his maps, already know this.

Obviously I needed to put these maps into their own mod.

What you need to know about the Brutal Combat Mission concept....

Basically you choose your Faction and your enemies Faction. You determine yours and the enemies resource amount.
Your objective is to then engage in combat with the enemy by populating the map with your units. The enemy will continue to produce a force to combat you based on what you have brought into play. You must exhaust the enemies resources via a war of attrition. Winning when you defeat the last of the enemy.

You can call in a couple of units and have a very light casual skirmish exploring the great maps, or you can call in an assemblage of infantry, vehicles and aircraft and seek counselling.

Some maps will be better suited to vehicles, this mission allows you to play the map how you see fit.

My advise is to call in what you can manage.

Brutal Combat will fight you.

Does not require any other mods, can be played as Single player & Co-op.

Developed, played and tested with Fog of War off, and Hard difficulty settings.

...Oh, and for the full experience you need to have game music on.

like dont allow ai or players to just wal;k across the river. pretend its lava or somwthing xD

@Tjdagger Thanks for updating the mod. For me it is the best mod in the game. The biggest problem I have with the base game is how long it takes to build up a decent sized force. You can go a whole game and never gain access to a tank. The airstrike feature is also outstanding. To me your mod is what the game should have been to start with. Thanks again for making it.

Hey spowers,
I just updated it. Thanks for letting me know. Besides the game version I had to update some older entity files. They where causing a crash.
By all means let me know if any of my stuff isn't working and I'll attempt to get it up to date. Between missions and little scripting snippets I have 60 plus mods spread across AS2 and CTA. It can be a challenge to keep it all up to date with the changes, plus i'm always focused on the next thing I'm wanting to do.
Lately I've been focused on learning more about editing entity and other background files. I got some stuff in the works which I think is pretty cool.
As for Gates of Hell... just put the editor in my hands Already! And let me play with it.

@Tjdagger I haven't been able to play in a while and this is by far my favorite mod for CTA. I was wondering if you could update this or explain to me how to do it myself since they keep doing updates to CTA and this and other mods no longer work. I also hope you get involved once Gates of Hell comes out because I really enjoy your work. Thank you

Could these maps be added into the conquest game mode? A dev told the that: "each mp gamemode (and conquest counts as such) needs an own mission file in the folder, as well as an .info file declaring the theme (winter, desert etc)
if this is there, the map will show up automatically"
