Description
INTRODUCTION: As you know ordertide is a thing now, and pretty much every campaign you can see Empire, Bretonnia, Dwarfs and f*cking Elves going on a rampage and taking over the entire map.

It isn't that bad of a thing when you play a disorder faction, or you just going around killing everything no matter what. But when you're playing order factions... it kinda becomes incredibly easy. Example: you're playing Empire and by the time you unite your provinces you can see bretons, dwarfs and fu*king elves beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of their natural enemies.

So I decided to make a few simple mods to make AI controlled order factions into punching bags for AI controlled disorder factions. By increasing their upkeep cost to stop them from fielding too much units. So while they wont be completely rolled other, they will never be capable of doing any meaningful damage to their enemies.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Mortal Empires only. I played around quite a few campaigns with these mods on. But I cant guarantee they will work as intended every time. Because campaign ecosystem is quite fragile be ready for some greentide/vamptide/edgytide action.

This mod nerfs AI controlled elf factions. If you play as Alarielle, her boytoy, Teclis or Alith, you will be unaffected, but if AI plays them they get nerfs. Non-playable factions of fuc*ing elves are always nerfed, so if you're using unlocker - unlucky you

Here's another idea on how to nerf the High Elves, but in battle.
Nerf their range. A simple unit of archers has more range than half the ranged roster of other factions.

it all started with Cothique getting pissy with me for absolutely no other reason than my "Great Power" diplomatic debuff (i have only confederated Tabalecland, Wissenland and Hergig) i since downloaded a mod that simply gets rid of "Greater Power"

however, the damage at this point is already done... Cothique being the absolute c***s that they are, invited one high elf faction after the other into a war against me and thus my current millitary allies do absolutely NOTHING to help me as these other elf factions didn't declare war directly on me, which results in droves of elves just strolling right through my military alliance buffer zones.

i figured i'd be able to handle them, until suddenly, out of nowhere, Tyrion cancelled his trade agreement and non-aggression pact with me, and immediately accepted to join Cotique's war on me in that same turn.

needless to say i am outraged.

thank you for this mods, i am enough of playing with carlos francisco and always this 4 fucking races destroys norsca, chaos, orcs, etc. Thank you men i hope this works

as to the other statement. after playing high elves several times, their growth rates suck pretty hardcore. if they were even slightly higher then high elves would get tier 4 cities relatively early. as it is. it takes committment to accomplish. i end up putting farms in multiple cities in same province just to force growth to go a little bit faster.and then once they hit tier 5 i can effectively remove those as the replenishment is nice, but i get that from other sources as well.

Well, the goal was to stop order factions from taking over the map every damn time.

When it comes to growth, first, they can always capture higher tier settlements from others, and second, in this game population doesn't really exist and you only need it so you can have more buildings in your cities.
And in lore we can see that both dwarfs and elves have giant cities, but no people living in them. For example in the first Tyrion and Teclis book, when Tyrion first arrives in Lothern and goes exploring he notices a lot of empty houses.
In the end it would be cool for CA to actually add a proper population mechanic to this game, since it could solve a lot of problems, they(and me with this mod) try to fix artificially, but it will never happen.

When it comes to scripting in this game I cant really comment, since I haven't been doing a lot of it. While I can say that your idea for script is possible, I wont be the one to bring it to life (i think).

thoough to be fair upping upkeep of units accomplishes the same thing as low growth rates. personally though the second part of what i said earlier would be hilarious. especially if the player is a dwarf or an elf and they just got to a military alliance level, next turn they have too many provinces touching eachother, and bam. now you have war of the beard all over again.
