Check out BonBonB's What Map review, complete with a seal of approval!
I've since fixed the traffic issue, as well as all of the silly little errors he uncovered, making the map better than ever!

This isn't my first map, but it's the first that I feel more or less satisfied with.

Aldenridge Pass is a 100% from scratch map. It features two rivers that drain into a "lake" (sea level as far as the game cares). While the valleys are conducive to building, the rugged mountains lining them will be more of a challenge. I have however sneaked in some fairly level areas up in the mountains for those who might like to make some high villages.

81 Tiles is highly recommended, but of course optional. Clouds & Fog Toggler is also recommended if you're going to be messing about with the outer areas. I put a fair amount of work near the edges, and I'd love for people to see it --but play however you'd like. :)

There's 620k+ trees, so not insane, but performance beware.

I also highly recommend Catenary Replacer to remove the catenaries, but I won't list that in required since it isn't strictly necessary. I'm sure if that extra level of realism matters, you know how to do that.

All screenshots were taken with: Cleyra Theme and LUT, but since then I have decided it's better using Owl's Cinematic v1. Of course, at the end of the day theme and LUT are up to you.

Hello all. Will be working in the coming weeks to remove the NExt2 dependency on all of my maps.

I love this map and have been working on building a city in it for over a year. With the recent note regarding end of life for Network Extensions 2 ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2404810559 ), I have been trying to remove it from the map after replacing all Next2 networks. However, the map loads with many roads removed, and half the terrain of the map sunk to the lowest level. Do you know what is happening?

I've just spent about 130 hours over the past few weeks designing and constructing a beautiful, prosperous city that's home to more than a quarter million very happy Cims. This is easily one of the best and most enjoyable maps I've ever used. Thanks for making it!

Just saw BonBon's review and can't wait to start building here.

There are still some issues with the AI not choosing to use the northern outside connection. It is a completely functional connection and they'll sometimes use it... just very very rarely. I've spent several hours trying to get through-traffic to use it since it would look better, but at this point it is what it is.

Thank you!!! It's a beautiful unique map and I am eager to see what you create in the future.

- Cleaned up some terrain that was a bit more messy than I cared for after my earlier rail changes.

Also, smoothed the back side of that wrinkly mountain to a nice rock face.

Update to address all the issues that BonBonB uncovered in his What Map review.

- fixed north outside connection. I had switched the road to that type so that the width would match the bridges, but neglected to make the final segment the proper kind of road to connect.
- reworked the start square roads to be less... "eccentric"
- fixed upper lake rail tunnel terrain
- changed rail routing near the north edge of the map to be less steep. Still a bit steep for real life, but there's just not enough space to do a proper ascent.
- fixed blue mantle by northern rail bridge
- fixed blue mantle by highway bridge above start square
- trimmed many trees
- altered the ramp to the big highway bridge to be less jarring
- fixed one pesky bridge pillar

Beautiful! That one national road not being connected to the outside world has me (and Bonbon) confused. The node is part the edge of the map, but it doesn't connect to the outside.
Other than that issue, this is quite lovely. Subscribed and rated! 😊
