Description


This mod requires, in this loading order...:
- a Rimworld of Magic
- Humanoid Alien Races 2.0
- CORE factions expansion - A Rimworld of Magic
- This mod or my other Faction Mods for a Rimworld of Magic (click to see the ongoing collection)




Despite being an amazing mod, a Rimworld of Magic felt a little bit empty in the world generation aspect. Mages, fighters and other supehumans were randomly scattered arround without following any pattern and the mod's faction, the Arcane Folder, didn't have anything special to deal with this, acting like any other regular faction. Even the Mage King, supposed to be an amazing pawn with arcane powers, ended up being a wimp bartender, which was quite underwhelming for me.

This mods series are an attemp to add more life and lore to the magic rimworld, including different factions with unique personalities and stories for each individual.



Lore introduction: With a no-cars Mad Max inspiration, Fighters are part of a dystopian civilization where violence has turned into the meaning and reason for everything. They spend their days snacking on enemy corpses, sharpening their swords, and killing each other in the Arena, each trying to become the next champion and taste glory until another aspirant cuts their throat while the audience celebrates the gore-fest.

Classes: Bladedancers, Gladiators and Faceless.
Leader: Known and feared by equal, the dangerous Fight Lord has an extremely high melee skill and fights equipped with a full-body armor.
Trade: With rude negotiator, they offer a lot of melee weapons from their forges at very cheap prizes, few slaves that won't be even funny to see getting killed in the arena, and few drugs.
Goodwill: Random

Lore introduction: The Monks live a life of personal introspection, meditating in an tireless attempt of understanding the meaning of life and our place in the cosmos as mere spectators of an overwhelming will. They are never the aggressor and will always refuse violence. But heed a warning if you dare to attack them: they are far from defenseless, being masters of ancestral martial arts and deadly in a close fight.

Classes: Monks.
Leader: Among the elder sages, they choose who they call The Enlighted One, usually a relaxed and kind old man that despite not being as nimble as decades before, can be as deadly as the most ferocious thrumbo if he needs to protect his people.
Trade: At very cheap prizes, they usually sell some farm animals and plants that they raise and harvest with their own hands and hardwork.
Goodwill: With a vow of peace, they will never try to attack anyone and will remain neutral with every other faction but the pirates and savages, who insist on raiding them despite the monks never fight back.

# Can I add this mod to an existing save?
If you install Orion's Faction Discovery everything should work fine as long as I've tested.

# I have some ideas for a faction, backstories, traits and many other things, how do I suggest them?
The best way to do it is to find me in the AROM Discord[discord.gg] where we all can discuss any kind of ideas. I love to read everybody's suggestions, my plan is to make this mod series a community driven project.

# How many factions do you plan to add?
There's not a planned limit as long as I have the motivation!

Can't say it doesn't cause problems at all, but this mod runs in 1.3 - all traits show, pawns can use abilities, factions can raid.. if it causes lag would explain things, but this mod doesn't break the game, as far as i see.

FYI all:
In MonkRaceSettings.xml, change
MonkKind to Alien_Monk_Kind
and
In FighterRaceSettings.xml change
FighterKind to Alien_Fighter_Kind
to solve
Could not resolve cross-reference to Verse.PawnKindDef named FighterKind (wanter=kindDefs)
and
Could not resolve cross-reference to Verse.PawnKindDef named MonkKind (wanter=kindDefs)

Hello, i have the same problem as Gerk where Monks are Purple boxes for me, according to my log its the Androids mod doing shenanigans, any way i can fix it?

awesome! glad to help i was having to use character editor to spawn in a copy of the person lol. i appreciate the quick response. keep doing what your doing, these mods are awesome
