Description
Do not use this mod, instead use Alternate Ruler Appear Chance.
I made a mistake while making this mod, causing it not to work, and don't have the means to update it at this time. The alternate version should be working correctly however.




--- Previous Description ---

Rulers will appear randomly, instead of every 2-3 missions.
Not to be confused with my other mod Alternate Ruler Appear Chance - these two mods are not compatible with each other (use 1 or the other).

In the default game, Ruler appearances are fairly predictable. Default game: After a mission in which a Ruler appears, they will not appear during the next mission. On the 2nd mission, they have a 75% chance to appear. If they don't, then they are guaranteed to appear on the 3rd mission. <-- This is the default game.

*This mod* changes that, by instead giving the Rulers a flat percentage % chance to appear on each mission. The percentage varies by difficulty:

41% on Recruit
44% on Veteran
47% on Commander
40% on Legend (lower because the default % table is lower on Legend)

It's possible that you could get 2 missions back-to-back where a Ruler appears. And it's entirely possible you won't see a single Ruler for 4 missions or so. Who knows? They strike randomly! This can allow for some really divergent gameplay experiences.

This mod does not affect any existing missions in which a Ruler is guaranteed to spawn (such as, Alien Nest). Also, any missions in which a Ruler is prohibited from appearing will still function normally.

Also, this mod adjusts the spawn lists so that the Rulers may appear out of order and interchangably with one another.
(normally it is, Viper King first, then Berserker, then Archon).

To balance out the early game and late game, all Rulers have had their stats averaged out, so that each Ruler is just about as powerful as the others. (normally Viper King is weakest and Archon Ruler is strongest)

--- Compatibility ---
This mod does not conflict with other mods that modify Ruler AI or abilities during missions. May not work with any other mods that modify Ruler appear chances.

No, in fact now that I look at it, that was a mistake. "AppearChances" are the for the Chosen. And I don't have the means to update the mod anymore, so this mod will not work as intended (although, the Alternate version appears to have been done correctly). I will update the mod description. Thanks for pointing that out.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you used "AppearChances" instead of "RulerReappearChances"?

I haven't experimented with that, so I am not sure how the dark event works. If it simply adds a multiplier, then the answer would be yes. You would have to wait and see.

No it does not remove the facility mission requirement... however that can be circumvented by enabling the Alien Nest mission before starting a campaign.

So my understanding is that rulers must first show up in a facility mission before they begin to show up in other missions.

Does this mod remove the facility mission requirement? Because if so that's great!

Actually, I am not sure... I think probably Chosen, since their chance to appear is lower than Rulers. The game handles it automatically, I didn't change anything in that respect.
