Description
Some folks are born, made to wave the flag, ooh theyre red white and blue...

This is the CH-47 Chinook, Designed by Boeing-vertol, its widely regarded as one of me most useful and functional helicopter designs ever made. Making its Debut during the Vietnam war as a heavy lifting and transport helicopter, it has since seen countless other uses, varying from being a gunship and a passenger transport helicopter to firefighting service.

The Chinook is still in active service today with the US military, and countless variants were exported to other nations where they still operate. There are a couple of civilian operators that also make use of this helicopter.

can it be reskinned to a more civilian color pattern? how can i change the model itself, what kind of modelling software should i use?

As someone who works on Chinooks this is a great model. I would love to see a version with an EAPS for the desert maps and winter maps too. If not thats okay!

A real CH-47 Chinook can carry 44 seated passengers. Would be cool to make a "commercial" civilian version that can be colour-coded like the normal transit vehicles.

Hi there, how many passengers does it take?

Thanks for this! My father flew these in the CH-46 variant from the Marine Corps and then taught pilots from various worldwide militaries as a civil servant various tactics until his retirement in the mid 2000s.

Not nagging, just passing on a thing I learned. I did some homework on direction of rotation in Cities Skylines. If you use a negative number for the rate of rotation they will spin "backwards". This can be set independently for each rotor or propeller on multi rotor or prop craft.

you dont know the half of it lol, i cant even have contra rotating propellers on my brabazon.

Understood. Given how well its done I suspected you were being hampered by inadequate tech.

yea i know except thats not how animations in this game work in this game so that cant be implemented

Respectfully, a chinook's rotors spin in opposite directions. As seen from above, the forward rotor spins counter-clockwise, and aft rotor spins clockwise. That's why they don't hit each other (known as as "meshing") when they pass over the top of the aircraft. I believe the animations and the way the blades are depicted should have one of the rotors flipped.
