You are currently viewing XP Kibble Classic, the version we released over a year ago. We are keeping XP Kibble Classic for those who prefer our original version. XP Kibble Classic should be considered deprecated. We’ll fix any new bugs that arise, but we won’t be making any more quality of life or feature improvements. Those efforts are spent on XP Kibble 2.0.


We had to completely recreate the original XP Kibble mod in order to provide XP Kibble Classic because we lost all our original mod files. While we were under the hood, we figured we’d make a few quality of life improvements for those who prefer XP Kibble Classic to XP Kibble 2.0.

• You can now craft all! XP Kibble is still crafted in the player inventory, but now you don’t have to babysit the craft if you want to craft many at a time. Craft all now works!
  
• Crafting speed has been greatly increased. It’s no longer based on taming kibble crafting speeds.
  
• The XP Kibble diamond particle effect is the same, but it is no longer centered around your tame’s body… it has been moved to your tame’s head, where XP is “learned”. XP Kibble 2.0 has a new particle effect that we moved to the head and we liked it much better, so we decided to move the classic effect as well.

XP Kibble is a mod that gives you the ability to craft a special kind of kibble which you can feed to your tame to give it an XP boost for a limited period of time. Think of it as a consumable Explorer Note buff. This is extra helpful on maps which lack Explorer Notes.


There are five different flavors (tiers) of XP Kibble: Simple, Regular, Superior, Exceptional, and TEK. Those should all sound familiar to you.

• XP Kibble Regular gives the same buff for the same duration as a regular Explorer Note.
  
• XP Kibble TEK is not restricted to any player level but unlocks with other TEK (requires Tek Replicator).

XP Kibble originally had no configurations available as we, at the time, didn’t know how to implement such a feature. We have since learned and made that possible with XP Kibble 2.0. We kept XP Kibble Classic true to the original, without configuration. If you’d like the option to better customize this mod to your tastes, please check out XP Kibble 2.0.


This mod does not alter any core game resources in any way. Instead, I have created new kibble classes and buffs. Load order should not matter.

If you happen to despise any particular flavor of XP Kibble (*ahem* TEK *ahem*), there exists a method to prevent engrams from loading in game. Here is a link to a Google Doc featuring all the engram override commands needed to obliterate your hated flavor.



We really enjoyed creating this mod all over again. We first uploaded it over a year ago and we’ve spent a lot of time since learning Unreal Engine, the engine that powers Ark and the Ark Dev Kit. Our ability to mod Ark has greatly improved. This is why we created XP Kibble 2.0. If you haven’t already, please check it out. We decided to keep the original XP Kibble, now called XP Kibble Classic, because we know there are many out there who like things the way they are. If we had just updated XP Kibble in place with all the new features of XP Kibble 2.0, we know that would have disappointed many players.
