Description


Have you ever noticed how clunky and awkward it is to enter orbit around a planet? I certainly did.

In vanilla, the animation for entering orbit around a planet is a bit janky. It's a strange turning menuver, one that doesn't make much sense. It appears more as if you're settling in to hover above the planet, instead of entering an orbit like the naviation menu would have you believe. Not to mention, it just looks bad. Thankfully, this animation is controlled by one file, and a quick patch was all I needed to give it a much better animation. I hope you enjoy!

As someone with motion sickness triggered easily by games that do that, and 360 movement... THANK YOU. Just watching your GIF of the "before" twice was enough to make me feel sick...

tbh I looked at the before, my before was less smooth than that, it would start at 90' as usual than dip up, down, pop back, pop forward, try to backflip, then stable orbit...

yeah... not taking this off

As far as modifications go, what is changed specifically is the animation itself; what this means is that, if you were to watch the Nav menu when taking off, the noticeable delay that the animation used to visually show is still present - in basic terms, it affects the animation, but does not change the travel time.

Now, since I don't play multiplayer servers, I cannot attest to this being exclusively clientside, but I can say that it SHOULD be clientside.
