Optimised 6-speed transmission for Logitech/Trustmaster shifter(s)

Description
Hello fellow truckers,

since i didn't find a modded transmission wich is optimised for
a 6-speed shifter (like the one from Logitech or thrustmaster and can still pull semi-heavy loads
i made my own mod.

After a while of testing i thought i'd release it to the public.

Im aware it's not realistic but automatic transmission felt boring to me. I had struggles with the multi-layer shifters. There are some special designed shifters with buttons but they are expensive af!

I play the game for fun in the end, so i see this as compromise between simulation & arcade gameplay.

The transmission is based on a 12-speed EF. (Diff-ratio 3.08)
Since it's practise to skip speeds anyways i did the same here by reducing the 12 to 6 speeds.

Speed chart (theoretical at 2000 rpm)
  • 1st 07 max. mph at 2000 rpm
  • 2nd 12 max. mph at 2000 rpm
  • 3rd 26 max. mph at 2000 rpm
  • 4th 45 max. mph at 2000 rpm
  • 5th 76 max. mph at 2000 rpm
  • 6th 99 max. mph at 2000 rpm

  • Rev: 06 max. mph at 2000 rpm

Take a look at xxxstefxxx's guide- it helped me calculating it.

The mod appears as "T-Systems" (as manufracturer) & is named
"T-Systems Prototype".
Since this one is fictional i gave it a new brand :)
The image ingame is still lacking besides in mod-manager. I know my paint skills are awesome ;)
Havn't figured out how i can make .dds/tobj files so far.

Compared to the Allison 6-speed (which is not even designed for manual shifting) it has way better stats! Feel free to test it out in your game. Maybe make a save-game before you do it.

Leave me a feedback if you like it.
By (huge) demand i can make alt. transmission with diffrent gears & diff. - ratio like a 4.10 or 2.64.

Keeeeep'on truckin!!

Supported trucks so far:
  • International Lonestar
  • Volvo
  • Mack Anthem
  • Peterbilt 389
  • Peterbilt 579
  • Kenworth T680
  • Kenworth W900

Compability
  • It should work on any version of the game. (Unless SCS changes how truck parts are added & defined ingame)
  • For my understanding, it shouldn't affect other mods since this only adds a new transmission.

DISCLAIMER:
This mod was made without any deep modding experince in ATS/ETS2. I just assembled it after some yt-tutorials & reading some basics about engine rpm, tranmission & gears. If it will ruin your game or destory your immersion - don't blame me lol

or if you can afford it, a simvertex Eaton Fuller 18 Speed shifter knob works wonders, its a it of a learning curve but i use it with my Thrustmaster Th8A Shifter and its perfect

This also needs to be put into ETS2

please make 2nd a bit longer and 5/6th a bit shorter. if i shift at 2200 in 2nd im 1100 in 3rd, it's horrible. im overrevved in 2nd and bogging in 3rd. please

@Actionjackson no, cuz on highest gear it is not good to reach max RPM even at maximum speed

can you add it with the 9300?

Cool mod but would be better if you max out a 85@2000 in 6th. 100mph is useless most of the time.
The 15 mph you win can be used to put 3,4,5,6th gear closer together.

Yeah I just found out from a fellow ats trucker that ats has the 6 speed for logitech g920 driving force shifter. So until I can get the Eaton fuller know for 18 speed I'll be using this but I did want to know if there is a way to get 12 speeds from the 6 speed shifter I'm using now

does this work in TruckerMP with ATS ?

the pxn-v9 not to expensive around $200 had my wheel set for two years and works great for 18 speed transmissions the programable 6 speed shifter has two flip switches on the panel one is already labeled hi lo
