Description
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. My pawn has a nullifier installed, so why are they are still getting hungry?
A. Check your pawns hediffs; the nullifier only reduces hunger by a certain amount, but some hediffs - modded ones in particular - can increase hunger rate beyond this limit, thus causing pawns to get hungry.

KNOWN ISSUES

None.

ABOUT

Adds a replacement stomach which is quite expensive and requires great skill to make, but completely removes the need for a pawn - or animal - to eat. Should work with animals added by other mods as long as they use the 'AnimalThingBase.'

Depending on the fullness of their Food meter, your pawn or animal may still eat something to get it back up to 100%. After this, however, they will not need to eat anything else.

Installing a nullifier will reduce a pawn's consciousness by 10%, though this can be disabled by going to Options > More Mod Settings > Food Nullifier.

Androids and other non-humanlike colonists may have issues with a nullifier; install one at your own risk.

WHY DO I NEED THE XML EXTENSIONS MOD?

XML Extensions provides the PatchOperation needed to ensure that the nullifier can be installed in any animal, even ones that were added by other mods. This way, I don't need to create a load of patches for all the animal mods that exist out there; it is simply one patch to patch them all.

REQUIREMENTS

- Requires you to research food nullifiers, which in turn requires bionic replacements.
- 15+ skill in Crafting.
- 90 plasteel, 50 gold, 2 advanced components and 1 bionic stomach.
- Installing the nullifier also requires 12+ Medical skill.
- Can be installed in all animals, even those added by other mods as long as they use 'AnimalThingBase.'

CARAVANS

Adding a pawn with a nullifier installed to a caravan will show a large negative value for your remaining days of food. This is perfectly normal; I believe it's because RimWorld doesn't know what to make of this pawn who needs no sustenance to survive. As long as you have enough food for your other pawns in the caravan, it should be fine (though you might need to manually set how much food to take).

"THIS IS JUST A NUCLEAR STOMACH DONE DIFFERENTLY!"

Pawns with a nuclear stomach will still get hungry, though at a slower rate; the food nullifier eliminates hunger completely, and - as an added bonus - does not carry a risk of cancer, which makes it superior to the nuclear stomach by a substantial amount.

Also, friendly reminder that nobody is forcing you to install this mod.

Hey, this is a nice mod. I was wondering if you could make a 1.5 verision of this mod, but only if you have the time to do so. I don't want to be like others and press you. Take your time, but i would appreciate it if you did update the mod.

i will do so when possible, although i have reason to believe that the modset i use, although not relating to hunger, possibly could be conflicting

@seabazian Check your hediffs. The nullifier only affects hunger rate to a certain limit; some hediffs can exceed that limit, thus causing pawns to get hungry.

completely useless - does not work as advertised
it does not remove hunger at all, as my pawns still get hungry
i have literally no mods that relate to food whatsoever

Just found, caps consciousness at 90% instead of cutting 10% off existing.

Nice, thanks.

@Vardath Pawns with a nullifier installed will add a (very large) negative amount to a caravans remaining food supply. However, as long as there is still food in the caravan for other pawns, nobody should go hungry.

How does this affect caravans? Had problems with a similar mod.

I've fixed the issue with hunger still going down. Turns out I forgot to update a couple of patches, so the new setting was being overwritten with the old one. :csgoskull:

I'm having the same issue but i don't recall installing any other mod that affects hunger. In any case if the colonist has that implant on them hunger just shouldn't decay, but it does anyway.
