Description
The the most comprehensive sound mod to date. complete SFX overhaul that adds and replaces hundreds of weapon, vehicle, movement, and ambient effects.

Ultimate Immersion Sound Effects addresses every aspect of audio in the game from top to bottom. Assault Squad 2 updated many assets from its predecessor, the sounds however, were left untouched. A keen ear can easily hear the age throughout, meaning that a large and cohesive overhaul is necessary to truly update the sound of the game. This mod achieves just that.

Beginning from a base of new high quality explosion, impact, and ambient effects, the mod grew to feature a host of brand new sounds imported from obscure and hard to find sources for historical accuracy, and many more created completely custom by me. Not only are these sounds accurate and fairly true to life, but more importantly they are of modern audial quality.

Ultimate Immersion Sound Standard
This mod features a complete overhaul of small arms sounds using 100% historical, real life sounds of non-reproduction WW2 weapons. This can be tricky to implement into the game, because the sound of a weapon in real life varies greatly by distance and environment, therefor I have insured the sources for my small arms have a set standard to ensure cohesion:

⠀• Sound comes from a source no more than 5 meters from the microphone/camera.
⠀• Weapon is fired in an open environment with little or no trees and other audial obstructers.
⠀• Weapons are not reproductions and fire original caliber rounds.
⠀• Source audio is at least 192/kbps.

Features
⠀• Can be used without others having the mod, is not visible to others in lobby while hosting
⠀• Over 300+ sound replacements
⠀• Roughly 95% of all small arms now have their real life sounds per my sound standard
⠀• Most tanks have their real life, historical engine sounds, when a source could be found
⠀• Total movement overhaul, custom walking / running sounds for all terrain types
⠀• Deep and immersive gun sounds for tanks and AT guns
⠀• Improved sounds for nearly all vehicles
⠀• Completely revamped voices and death effects, featuring audio from games like CoH
⠀• Overhauled ambience, all new weather effects
⠀• New explosions and impact noises.

To Do
⠀• Even more country specific voices.
⠀• More movement and weapons variation.
⠀• Historical Japanese vehicle engine sounds.

Credits:Gun effects come from various sources, explosions and bullet sounds from RobZ and many more, movement and ambient sounds created in-house by me and some others.

⠀⠀
Ultimate Immersion (Core) is a major reimagining of the game that modernizes and enhances the cosmetics by a significant degree. Originally created in 2015 as a small modification to the interface, the size and scope of the mod has been heavily expanded over the years, to a point were the majority of the default assets from sound to skins have been completely recreated and replaced.
Ultimate Immersion Skins & Camo completely replaces the vanilla game's oversaturated-vehicle textures, unrealistic camouflage patterns, and highly contrasted infantry skins. Vehicle skins now have a design that is consistent across the entire nation/faction, and infantry uniforms have been redesigned from the ground up.
Ultimate Immersion Historical Flavor & Localization introduces a complete standardization to the naming system for infantry, vehicles, artillery, and equipment. Many titles have been added or changed for historical flavor, realism, and immersion.
Ultimate Immersion Competitive HUD takes the original Ultimate Immersion HUD and simplifies it for a cleaner, simpler look. By removing pieces of the HUD and adding transparency, this becomes the definitive UI mod for any competitive player who needs to see everything.

@Anthonest I wouldnt assume just because nobody else has done it. Call to arms and as2 both use 64 sounds, its not that different. In fact, both use the exact same "sound.set" file. Have you ever looked at call to arms files?
Anthonest  [author] 20 Apr, 2023 @ 5:24am
@That207Guy Yes the 64 bit engine makes it quite different from previous titles. However this is not the only difference, the sound engines are different as well. AS2 is limited to no more than 64 simultaneous sounds, among other limitations, its quite primitive. I am fairly certain what you are suggesting is quite impossible though, since none of the highly capable sound modders of our time have done anything even approximating that.

@Anthonest I wasnt asking you to change anything, was just wondering. And the difference is as2 is 32bit and cta is 64 bit. And adding a "second" distant shot sound is definitely not impossible. If you look at the files, they are almost identical to each other. CTA just has a few extra. Its just a matter of using tags and customs defines. Will the game run like garbage after? maybe.

CTA uses a completely different engine and version of GEM than AS2, it is a huge upgrade all around. The there are far less differences between GOH and CTA. Even so, it would not be possible in my mod because it is designed to be compatible with vanilla multiplayer, so I cannot change things of that nature.
