Description
A fairly common sight on the EP&E, tank cars from the Mount Baker Oil & Gas Co. rolled out of Bellingham to supply gas for lighting and fuel in the rural towns along the line. Demand ramped up in the 1910s as gas-powered machinery came to the farms and logging camps, and an oil-fired locomotive, No. 7, came to the EP&E. The company also supplied diesel fuel to the line in the 1950s.

This one, like the Klondyke Refrigerated boxcar at https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2134601956, was mostly an excuse to dip into my vast collection of old-timey fonts that don't really suit a railroad. But it also helped to flesh out the "world" of the EP&E and who uses it, and gave me an excuse to research 1910s tank cars instead of doing something useful. The technical specs on the sides and ends loosely match actual GATX tankers from the 1910s.
