Auger-Class - Supply Ship
This T4 Supply Ship is designed to provide and store all a fleets resources and needs. It has been designed to dock 2 Sledgehammer-Class Mining Barges, it has 320k of internal storage and the ability to dock 8 Supply Containers giving it an extra 10,240k storage

Note: this ship has not been designed to enter an atmosphere, and as such it is not equipped with any landing gear.

Colours Schemes
This ship has been modelled to be able to easily change the colours schemes by changing the top right 3 colours, below are some examples but feel free to create your own!

Wish he would come back to this game :steamsad:

This is an amazing setup once you figure out how everything docks together. I didn't initially find the small bridge with the side-facing controls for docking on the Sledgehammers, but once I did everything locks together nicely.

Impressive build Phoenix. I love it.

Right next to the hangar doors are the landing pads for my docking ships. Next to them are even larger pads, that also look like landing pads for a far larger footprint. If the Auger exists, it should likely be docked to by anything bigger, because it'll already have ships docked to it all the time....

Also, the upper pads above where sledgehammers dock looks suspiciously shaped like something is meant to dock onto it. Nothing really fits on there.....

So, I've just loaded my Auger up with 6 containers of.. well.. junk mostly. Man does she get hefty feeling with a couple bigger ships loaded and those containers. I cannot imagine the power you are going to have to put into a 12 container ship. But I hope I have the resources to find out!

I ripped 6 constructors out of mine to save some CPU overhead too, as I rarely actually keep more than 3 or 4 busy solo. 12 was WAY more than I'd ever need!

I like this one, when all is said and done. She feels like a custom heavy freighter. My interior is quite different from stock, but I get lost less!

@MacShell

I have a larger freighter planned, so far the design I've come up can carry 12 containers

@Tarsis, ill look into it, but i'm not sure there is anywhere i could put LCDs in the elevators to do that (if only you could get LCD Textures!)

except there is the whole engineering section in between then, so that's why there are side doors and out door areas to land on on this one

more of just a space issue

You can always add more turrets to it :P It has plenty of large empty surfaces you could add turrets to and has CPU to spare to add them

I do plan on building a battleship and a flagship that will combine both the battleship and Scabbards capabilities (and carry Backsword or two), though i doubt i will get it to carry any containers, but i'm waiting on seeing if they remove weapon limits before I build these two, as I would want more then 2 artillery on them,

as for more then that? i'm not sure, big ships are a great way to burn you out and I'm already a little burnt out, so progress has slowed down a bit for me at the moment

This ship is *just* big enough that it should have LCDs in the elevators telling you where you are, or color coded levels.

It would be nice if the two hangar levels had quick access between them for vehicles to get to the repair bay.

The levels seem really "cut up" for reasons I could not discern in my quick run through in creative.

I liked how the docking of the containers worked a LOT. I would like to add this ship and all that juicy juicy storage to my survival game, I think, as my main base ship, but it is so woefully defended I am not sure I will be able to keep my ill gotten gains.

Yes, this suits the ship as "fleet supply ship".

I need a bigger, meaner, carry even more headquarters version, I think. Something where the containers could get some shutter coverage for some usage of the mother ships shields, I would hope.

Omg! How much this beauty can carry? Is this the more capable hauler your industry has? Really, going to give it a try ASAP!
