Description
Description
This mod replaces the Main Menu Music with Baba Yetu.
It also works with Linux, Mac, and Windows.

DMCA/Fair Use
I firmly believe this mod can be used under Fair Use or at least for people who own the OST or Civ IV game. If any copyright holder disagrees...make sure you want to highly publicize your disagreement so we the customers can voice our thoughts on your decision. But note: If you do not own Baba Yetu or Civ IV, I don't think you would be allowed to use this mod. Your decision, your responsibility, you waive me of all responsibility. I created this mod in good faith that it will be an appreciated homage to one of the best Civilization themes ever created.

Compatibility
This should be compatible with almost all mods so long as they don't replace the stock music. I will try to always maintain backwards-compatibility, but my first concerns are the latest versions or editions.

Troubleshooting
If this mod does not work for you, please note what OS you are on (Linux, Mac, Windows) and what Expansion you are on. I'll follow up with a question regarding certain files so that I can add support shortly thereafter. Note, I do not own a Mac and can only rely on users to help in that regard.

Credits & Thanks
Thanks goes to the following: Song by Christopher Tin, featuring Ron Ragin and Stanford Talisman from the album Sid Meier's Civilization IV Official Soundtrack.

Forced 2FA Sucks
I refuse to use forced 2FA. I don't mind it as an option, I'll even use it if it is an option, but not if it is forced. A password should always be good enough for confirmation. Steam refuses to let me post regarding my own mods, don't expect a response in the threads anymore. I will, however, continue to update the mods. If they don't work, follow the trouble-shooting!

@ThatOneSaltyFilipino, I probably won't be buying Civ games anymore. They appear to be DLC-whoring and I'm tired of shelling out money for games over and over that are just revamps especially.

The fact that this song immensely still fits in Civ 6 is a testament to how timeless Baba Yetu is as a song in the Civ Franchise. I hope there will be a similar mod in Civ 7 as well!

@nnyonnyo77, It should work if your scripts and mod load order are correct. Double-check your file paths and make sure it can access your wem...I'm thinking your mod file is probably wrong.

Thanks! That was what I was curious about. I was somehow guessing that these two could be different. I just checked my .wem, babayetu, and two other audio sources from civ6 through Hex Editor now, found out that 0x10 to 0x17 has the same hex column and text column. Does this mean they have the same bytes? If so or not, I don't know what to do next.

@nnyonnyo77, I'm glad you like it. As for why your own modifications might not be working it could be another of things. Are you essentially using this mod but replacing the wem files? If so it should work if you get the correct bitrate, codec, and frequency...but the two wem files are *not* the same. Linux/Mac requires a different selection compared to Windows. Use a Hex Editor to compare, you should see the same exact bytes from offset 0x10 to 0x17 (8-bytes total). Windows wem files will be different from Linux/Mac wem files.

+ I just checked the codec and an official audio file from civ6, BabaYetu, my audio had the same codec (custom vobris). The only difference as long as I found was only bitrate, which was all different. I guess that isn't a big matter. Still don't know what the problem is... :(

This mod is really satisfying me! It reminds me the first time playing civ4, that excitingness. Something I wanted to do was replacing the wem file into another one, but it seems not to work(same file name). I converted my audio file from wav to wem using Wwise, and I also checked that the converted wem file plays well. But once I try it in civ6, no audio comes out. What do you think the problem is? Will there be any difference between your wem file and my wem file(codec, idk something etc.)? Can I ask your way of converting to wem?

@Varpushaukka, hmtln, I added "A New Course". It's tested on Linux, but it should work on Mac and Windows. I used the WEM encoding techniques from memory.
