Iconian Civilization Portraits

Description
This mod adds the Iconians and their Heralds from the Star Trek Online Universe.

Features
1. Two animated portrait sets: Iconians and Heralds (Update: Now includes portraits of Ancient Iconians and Heralds from their past)
2. Iconian system start: Iconia & Ancient Iconia
3. Three Civics: Iconian Whole, Iconian Gateway Technology, and Advanced Technology.
4. New Decisions to build Iconian Gateways on distant worlds.
5. The "World Heart" relic for the ancient Iconia civic.

- Iconian Whole: Unlocks the psionic trait for pops and adds an ascension perk.

- Iconian Gateway Tech: Unlocks all required technology to build and use gateways. Also unlocks the Herald Sphere, an Iconian megastructure that works as a combination of several megastructures but to a lesser extent. Each Herald Sphere gives a bonus to your naval capacity and fleet command limit when built. Think of them as gateways with small shipyards.

- Advanced Technology: Can be generally used with other empires for RP purposes. It doubles base ship damage, range, shield, armor, and hull, but reduces country naval cap, build speed, and increases upkeep costs. Also gives a bonus towards building build speed and energy production.

-None of these civics will be used randomly by the AI, so no one will encounter empires that have them unless you create them yourself.

6. Iconian megastructure - The Herald Sphere - a small Dyson sphere that operates as a combination of a Gateway, Strategic Coordination Center, and shipyard. Must have the Iconian Gateway Technology Civic.

10. Iconian weapons

Great to hear. I was indeed worried about that as I prefer to play with fully randomized empires. Thank you!

@eqN: If you're concerned about ai empires using Iconian civics, I made sure to set each civic to have 0 weight so that the ai won't be able to pick them up at random unless you pick it for them.

@AinzOalGown: It was a problem, but it should be fixed now in the last update.

Love this mod. So well done! One oddity I noticed is any species can use the civics even if they're not Iconian. It would be nice if it were possible to disabled this somehow. Otherwise, and regardless, amazing stuff!

Quick question. Does anybody else have problems with establishing colonies via gateway? The planet gets renamed, but no colony is generated. I´m playing on 4.0.20

could also be a mod conflict tho, i have about 200 installed.

I just so happen to stumble upon this beauty of a species mod of one of my favorite star trek races, I love to see this beaut updated when possible.

@Rylanor: After the fall of their empire, Iconians converted their bodies into living weapons to survive. While they're effectively immortal from the process, but they can't reproduce as far as I can tell. They're a near-extinct ancient species, so I wanted to roleplay that in this mod where you have servitors to do the pop expansion for your main species. However, if you don't like playstyle, then you can not use the Iconian species trait or use their alternate trait. You wouldn't miss out on anything else regarding their technology research if you do that.

May I ask why you need this? Is there something wrong with the building?

You have Herald pops and/or robots. Ancient Ionians DO reproduce, just slowly

wouldn't that force me to essentially play tall unless I dont have any ruler pops? or is there any way around it?
