Description
Finally...
I am posting something small :P

After a long time of trying to figure out how to build a fighter which is not just a little bug that has maybe one gun and is just crazy to controle... fast as hell but has no controle whatsoever up or down... and is squashed instantly, but neither is heavy, slow, even if it has ALOT of firepower and in that way an easy target....

Well, anyway... I came up with this... I tried to put a significant amount of thrusters on ALL sides. give it good accelleration... but in enough reactors to suply the perfect need of power balance so the ship will have enough power even if it goes full out... and of course has enough gyros to perform some crazy fligh manovers.

Not to forget some good firepower....

AND of course I tried to give the cocpit some protection, while still providing a decent view for combat.


I think it is close to perfect...

unlimited ammo, no thruster damage, no batteries, no resources...

might be worth thinking of in future
don't get me wrong... I really apreciate constructive critique... just wanted to make sure you understood it was a rather OLD design... as in pre conveyor, pre thruster damage... pre... survival even I think
Don't get me wrong, they're both great designs! I'm just passing on my observations. Missiles are very difficult to work with - on the one hand you need them if you want the ship to be able to have any chance at hitting a large ship, but on the other hand they backfire a lot; it becomes important to make sure that they're isolated from other critical systems. My Valkyrie, for example, puts the missile pod out on wings away from the fuselage; when they blow up (as happens often) only the wing structure gets damaged, rather than the cockpit or engines.

didn'T know I misplaced the missile launchers... but ok...
as for the thruster damage... I built these BEFORE thruster damage was an issue so.... yea
Aesthetics: ★★★★☆

Both fighters are great original designs. The wedge fighter especially, bristling as it is with thrusters and given that bright racing stripe, gives off this sense of being like a muscle car.

Systems: ★★★☆☆

The double-bathtub fighter has a thruster damage issue that causes one side to blow out. With this fixed, and the armor upgraded, it would be a nightmare to dogfight against - it would be all but impervious to gatling guns.

Armament: ★★☆☆☆

The most serious issue is the armament. While the guns are fine, the placement of the missiles in the wedge is heavily flawed; on the first-trigger pull they backfired and critically killed the wedge, turning it into a spinning hunk of armor.

Overall: 3 out of 5 ★.
