Movable Text Tool

Description
This tool lets you create objects containing custom text. You can then move, rotate, and scale the text along with the object. This is much more convenient and versatile than using the default text and gizmo tool. Please provide feedback for issues and suggestions!

How to Use

To spawn a bag, click Games > Workshop > Movable Text Tool, and choose the object labeled "Ink Bag" to spawn the default bag onto the table you are playing at. This ensures you will always be using the most recent version.

Copying and pasting the text tool is also very convenient.

More Details
To move, rotate, scale, and delete the text, select the transparent center piece and change it like any other object. You can also set object toggles like Lock, Drag Selectable, Snap, etc.

A text tool with a larger grab area is also provided. You can replace the object in the Ink Bag with this before saving it.

Right-click the text tool to edit the text, change color, change size, etc.

To permanently attach the text to another object, position the text tool where you want it in relation to the object. Select both the target object and the text tool(s) (using click-and-drag or Ctrl+click), then right click > Permanently Attach. DO NOT USE ON CARDS/OBJECTS THAT HAVE SCRIPTING OR BUTTONS.

Change the color tint of the bag to change the color of text that it spawns. Right click > Config for additional options.

Known Issues
- When the text box is resized (every 20 characters, or when pressing Enter), some keystrokes might not register for a short instant. Only noticeable if you are typing fast when this happens. This doesn't occur for the host.

- Autolift may cause your lift height to be set to 0 even after dropping the object (usually only happens if you pick up then drop too quickly). Alternatively, you can just hold Right Mouse while holding an object (using Left Mouse) to achieve the same effect if Physics is not set to Locked.

- Text attached to the back of cards will not display because TTS will hide all buttons/text when cards are facing down or in someone's hand.

Feel free to provide feedback, issues, suggestions.

Thank you all for your feedback and support while I was inactive, I will try to maintain this mod a little when I have the time. <3

Rockin132 - I think that could be possible. I can look into adding that if you're still interested after all these years :)

SpringLeaf - yes, you can't edit after using "Permanently Attach". Sorry about that. I'm not sure if I can fix this with the scripting API here, because the "Permanently Attach" feature just applies a label to the target object.

phil.bejean - Merci!

VelvetGentleman - sorry, you can't edit or detach text after permanently attaching. You can use the fixed joint tool to attach a text object (although this doesn't work very well for cards).

Sorry I haven't monitored this item in a while.

tzetsienghwaang - you can change the hover height of the text via the config button on the ink bag. Set it to 0 to reduce clipping through objects above it. Unfortunately this means it may clip through models or surfaces below it, depending on their collision

It seems that whenever I place anything on top of the text object, the text always shows through and comes out on top of the objects. Can they stay under other objects?

Hello! How do you detach a text box when you permanetly attached it to something? Or rather how can I edit it whilst it is attached?
