Cold winds blow in, rustling the trees. Dark clouds emerge from over the Gorge Mountains.

A sense of unease fills the air; villagers and heroes alike exchange concerned glances at the small, single-horse wagon driving down the main street.

A hooded figure steps down from the carriage and heads to the palace gates. The palace guards initially begin to refuse entry, but quickly abate when they gaze upon the figure's face. The doors open, and the mysterious traveler is escorted to the throne room.

"Your Majesty, I present to you, The Ancient One, a wizard most revered in all the lands" the royal adviser proclaims, with both wonder and fear in his voice. Appearing before you is a wizard of considerable age, with ragged, gray robes and a beard that reaches to the floor. He walks slowly, with a staff made of Rabbit’s Oak, gnarled and twisted from use over countless years.

"Thank you" The Ancient One begins in a low, gravelly and otherworldly voice. “Your Highness, I am here because the realm is in great danger and there is little time to explain. The Oracle, keeper of sorcery long since forgotten by more sinister powers, is under threat. For centuries I have kept it hidden away in my tower, knowing that if anyone were to destroy it, the captured spirits within would scatter to the far corners of the world, and with it their secrets for dark magic that would threaten our very existence.”

“But this new threat, known as the Legion of the East, has been gathering strength in the Eastern Realms. Led by powerful spellcasters, they seek out The Oracle in hopes to destroy it and gain it’s knowledge so they can use to wipe out any enemy. You must aid me in protecting The Oracle and destroy the Legion so that we may protect this realm for centuries to come!”
