Overview

Allows fires to run wild.

Details

Uses a harmony patch to remove the identification of large fires when deciding if rain needs to become more relevant as fires progress on the map.

The game has a mechanism in it that after a number of fires are detected on a map, then the "firewatcher" process will "ramp up" or progress more rapidly to an alternative weather and also then try to select rain styled weathers.

This mod then turns off that behaviour and allows fire to run freely, where weather selection will behave as normal; a more random/biome/seasonally skewed behaviour.

Mod notes

Can be added and removed from a save game safely.

Includes a mod option to toggle the functionality on and off. (Though there will be a delay if setting "off" after being "on" as the Fire watcher elements in the game "ramp up" based on the apparent danger (number of significant fires on the map) periodically).

I think you are right, the reason can be that I had a map with very low amount of rainfall (13mm)

@solitarystargazer There is nothing in this mods code that affects weather types. Its only one patch that modifies the chance for rain due to fires.
You may have some other mod issue

Seems it not only removes forced rain, but also changes weather in general. Without it I get much more often snow on my map, but with this mod snow or rain is so rare.

This mod works perfectly fine.
Love these burning jungles

i understand *why* Tynan implemented a forced rain mechanic to mitigate fires, the entire map will just burn down but the way it currently works is just awful imo. Fire weapons are practically useless unless under a roof, incendiary mortar shells are honestly laughable since by the time of your 3rd or 4th shell rain will extinguish them anyway. Fire foam shells are actually almost objectively useless. There's the uncompromising fires mod but this is far better. Fire is fucking scary, theres a reason hell is an ever-burning inferno and a wild fire really isnt that different from Tartarus

Was running down your list of mods you work on, so much time has passed, old mechanoid graphics, old mods. Thought I would stop by and leave a comment when I saw this mod, as I currently use it. I love watching the fire just run wild. Wood has become a scarce resources, almost seasonal on my maps. Thank you for all your work.
