I think you are right, the reason can be that I had a map with very low amount of rainfall (13mm)
Mlie  [author] 18 Oct, 2024 @ 11:20pm
@solitarystargazer There is nothing in this mods code that affects weather types. Its only one patch that modifies the chance for rain due to fires.
You may have some other mod issue
WildStargazer 18 Oct, 2024 @ 6:32pm
Seems it not only removes forced rain, but also changes weather in general. Without it I get much more often snow on my map, but with this mod snow or rain is so rare.

This mod works perfectly fine.
Love these burning jungles
ASS 15 Apr, 2024 @ 1:12am
what is there to understand? and yes, nothing useful.
Mlie  [author] 14 Apr, 2024 @ 10:17pm
@ASS I dont understand your message. But I doubt it was something useful
ASS 14 Apr, 2024 @ 5:27pm
most of this mods that are allegedly updated for 1.5 before april 11 are nto working.

i understand *why* Tynan implemented a forced rain mechanic to mitigate fires, the entire map will just burn down but the way it currently works is just awful imo. Fire weapons are practically useless unless under a roof, incendiary mortar shells are honestly laughable since by the time of your 3rd or 4th shell rain will extinguish them anyway. Fire foam shells are actually almost objectively useless. There's the uncompromising fires mod but this is far better. Fire is fucking scary, theres a reason hell is an ever-burning inferno and a wild fire really isnt that different from Tartarus

Was running down your list of mods you work on, so much time has passed, old mechanoid graphics, old mods. Thought I would stop by and leave a comment when I saw this mod, as I currently use it. I love watching the fire just run wild. Wood has become a scarce resources, almost seasonal on my maps. Thank you for all your work.

This fire mecanic will get changed with v.1.4, it should rain less after a fire they reported in the patch-notes.
Nizate 9 Sep, 2022 @ 4:54am
I didn't know base game did all that...

Take my last failed raid attempt for example:
I take a few disposable colonists with moltovs and incidiaries to destroy a tribe in the woods.
I surround their entire village with fire... But it just starts raining... Oh that is rich.

Ill be downloading this mod as fast as the fires spread :D

Thank you!

I know that with certain terrain types (such as marsh) can impeded or outright stop a fire from spreading
Mlie  [author] 3 Sep, 2021 @ 9:42pm
@Geronimo This mod just turns off the automatic rain, it does not change how the fire spreads
VelxraTV 3 Sep, 2021 @ 3:25pm
Hmm I have tried to get a fire to spread across the map several times. It never seems to spread very far even with allow large fires turned on. It spreads further than vanilla but not much further. Even in a dense forest the fires will die out soon enough.

This mod is actually useful in certain cases. My current colony is INFESTED with boomrats thanks to the Wild Animal Sex mod. Fuckers keep breeding faster than I can kill them all. I'm trying to start a chain reaction where the fire from killing a boomrat spreads and kills more boomrats, basically consuming the entire map (minus my colonist's walled compound) in a giant inferno. Only problem is it keeps raining and putting out the fires before they can kill the rats.

Thank you, Mlie. This + the fire extinguisher this author made are really indispensable if you want to use flamethrowers.
eagleviper123 12 Jan, 2021 @ 6:07pm
My entire map burnt down except for my buildings. 10/10 would recommend for the full Australian/Californian experience
Dizzy Ioeuy 22 Nov, 2020 @ 3:09pm
would it be possible to change this mod to allow a setting that simply delays but doesn't stop the firecheck of the game- so my fires can get a LOT larger but not infinitely larger?

pretty please?
innu_anok_rising 13 Nov, 2020 @ 3:22am
how do i get on this
Grombulon 2 Sep, 2020 @ 4:33am
I really like this mod because with modded creatures and weapons that cause fire all the time, it sucks to constantly be summoning rain that does nothing but make my pawns sad and my guns inaccurate. Glad to see it's being continued.
Lurmey 31 Aug, 2020 @ 9:15am
So basically California simulator 2020?
Dizzy Ioeuy 22 Aug, 2020 @ 9:30pm
crap this seems like it would result in scorched 100% earth all the time... LOL
