Scripted Item Test Range Mk II

Description
Range with various scripted interactive items. Some of the items are originally from my SteamVR Home range map.

Note that most of the items have bugs and limited functionality due to limited support for them in the game. Any feedback or suggestions are still appreciated.

Feel free to use and modify the scripts and models (at least the ones made by me).

Items

- Hand-cranked Mini Gatling Gun
1. Pick up the gun by the top handle with left hand. 2. Rotate the crank clockwise to fire.

- MAC-10 'n Beans
Yup.

- Homemade Pipe Shotgun
Warning: Very unsafe. Always assume gun is loaded. Never point the barrel toward yourself.
To use: 1. Turn the bolt handle and pull it back. 2. Insert a shell into the breech (shake the box if the shells are stuck). 3. Push the bolt forward and turn to lock it into place. 5. Hit the metal handle on the right side to fire.

- M72 LAW Single shot rocket launcher
To use: 1. Pull the pin. 2. Grab the end of the tube and pull it back until it clicks in place. 3. Move the safety lever forward to the armed position. 4. Press the trigger (large rubber dome behind the safety lever) down to fire.

- Recurve bow
Will automatically nock an arrow when the string is pulled. You can also manually nock arrows and other items by bringing them close to the bow until the guide like appears, then move item to bring the ends of the guide line together.

- Gravity gun
This weapon is too heavy to properly wield without powered armor. To use: Twist handle back to pull objects. Twist handle forward to punt objects. Press red button on the handle to toggle aiming laser. The laser turns yellow when an object can be pulled, and orange when it can be punted.

- Squirt gun
Squeeze handle to fire.


Current issues
- Squirt gun liquid has graphical issues.
- Props are easily dropped.
- Arrows get nocked wrong on the bow if moving around.

Nice work on the video. The pipe shotgun doen't (usually) blow up if you close the bolt fully, it twists like a bolt-action rifle. Also, you can shoot other things than arrows with the bow.

To back up Rectus's response on two-handing guns, the only one I found that does that is the "Groza" replacement mod for the pistol, but the pistol can be two-handed via holding the grip, so they probably re-positioned the grip in the gun model.

The ones in my map are just prop_physics with scripts and other entities on them. AFAIK the custom generic guns are hardcoded to only stick to the primary hand, just like the stock weapons. I haven't found any way to make it work better, so I suspect it's not possible without modifying the game code.

What if were guns, that shot real bullets out of them? Couldnt you hold it in either hand, and trigger it somehow?
