Biography On Armory Screen

Description
Puts Soldier Biographies on the Armory Screen rather than hiding it behind Character Info.

Ever put pain-staking work into crafting detailed Biographies for your Character Pool Soldiers, or use mods such as Even More Backstories, yet never get to appreciate them since they're hidden-behind several menus? Well then, this mod's for you!

Compatibility
  • Uses a UIScreenListener, but doesn't override any Classes, should be compatible w/ most UI mods.
  • Will overlay the Armory Screen Stats Panel for Lifetime Stats since they're located in the same place, both mods seem to function just fine otherwise though.
  • Biographies that exceed the Biography character limit using mods may not fully-scroll.
  • Works fine on 16:10 aspect ratio screens.

Known Issues
  • None at the moment.

To-do
  • Make it so the Character Biography UI doesn't appear if a Unit has a blank Bio.
  • Add Armory Screen Stats Panel compatibility for Lifetime Stats.

Actually I want to keep it overlayed. I think lifetime stats has a dedicated button, so it is fine

Thanks for the mod! I wonder, is there any way to change the speed of auto scrolling the text? I use Even More Backstories mod and it is difficult for me to follow the text as I am not a native speaker.

Love the mod, hope to see "Add Armory Screen Stats Panel compatibility for Lifetime Stats" done when/if possible. Both are just a must have. :)

I encountered a minor bug where the biography page is blank after I finish customizing my soldier, but it fixes itself when I leave and come back

No. The vanilla biography screen scrolls through the whole thing. It actually looks like it might be trying in the armory, because after the text stops, it takes a while for it to wrap back around. Almost like it is scrolling over the text, but it is not able to display it.

Hm, thanks for letting me know, I'll earmark it for investigation. Out of curiosity, does the same thing happen with the vanilla Biography screen under Character Info?

Played around with a few UI mods and I can't get the full biography to load in the Armory screen. So my guess is that it is still imposing the character limit that is natively in the Bio screen. Not sure if it is something that you can fix, or that is worth the time to figure out. Just wanted to make the report. It's still a great idea and I'm still going to use it.
