Hull large Yacht III

A new and improved version of the Hull Large Yacht.

Looking at the RL yachts of this size I saw that the keel or bottom was clearly deeper than my version.


The new one is 2.5m deeper.

The top of the red blocks is the waterline. Currently in this model, the water is 40cm beneath the line.

The orange and yellow markers are there to make it easier to level the ship.

Inside the center of mass is marked with painted blocks.

The props are the rudders as well. I decided to remove the original 6 medium props.

In the upper decks I have used wing parts. Just as in RL these yachts have a upperstructure that is lighter than the hull it self. Aluminium on top and steel down.


HOW to use it:

Make your version of the Yacht. Then make sure that the indicator for center of mass is on. when it is finished remove the pink weightblocks. and balance the ship with the dark grey weightblocks. The weight is distributed well if the red waterline is parallel with the water. If so the center of mass should be straight on or under the marked position.

The simple idea is that the center of mass is underneath the lever of the water. In this model this is roughly 1 meter deep.

Stabilization is helpful as long as it keeps the center of mass down. In many cases this is achieved by 'fins'.
