Description
Bored of the same Governor strategy every game? This mod will rock your decision making. Everyday, all the Governor will have a whole new set of promotions! Every player in the game will have the same set of promotions so it's OP or useless to everyone.

Change list:
  • All Governors' promotions are swapped randomly. The promotion tree is still the same.
  • If you have any DLC or modded Governor (Ibrahim), their promotions are included as well even if such unique governor is not in the game.
  • Due to promotions being swapped randomly, I have set all Governors be able to be assigned to City States since some promotions only work on City States.
  • Only Victor and Ibrahim are established in 3 turns no matter who gets their promotions. It's their innate ability and is not tied to any promotions.

Known issue with save file: if you happen to load a save file from other day (or you change the seed, see below), the promotions are changed as well. The old effects are still in place until you move the governors around. See below if you want to fix it for your save.

How random work
By default you get a consistent set of promotions everyday even if you start new game or load your save game. You can change that by following these steps:

- Go to your mod folder, it should be at steamapps\workshop\content\289070\2250466642.
- You should see mutation-randomizer.sql file, open it with Notepad or any editor app you like.
- Follow the instruction there to choose 1 of the 3 options explained there:

  • Option 1: Use your own seed. You can also use this if you want to continue your save from yesterday. For example, today is Oct 07th 2020, but your save game is from Oct 05th 2020, you can use "20201005" as the seed and you can get the same game. You can also set any number you want if you want a new set.
  • Option 2: Use random seed. You get completely new set whenever you load/start new game.
  • Option 3 (currently default): Use current system date as seed. Set changes everyday. You can actually share the seed using today date and use Option 1 if you want to replay.

- Please remember to uncomment (remove the --) ONLY ONE INSERT line and comment (put the --) before any other lines.

If this randomized every new game and only for that game... this would be perfection. But the current setup just plain isn't fun to deal with.

If you want that promotion changes only per week:
INSERT OR IGNORE INTO GlobalParameters (Name, "Value") VALUES ('MUTATION_RANDOM_SEED', STRFTIME("%W%Y%m"));
Or you could remove '%W' and it will change on monthly basis.

All three options are pretty cruddy. 1 means you have to manually change it and the other 2 means no long games. :steamfacepalm:

This Mod makes secret society usless. It also makes safe games useless when I plan to finish a game on the next day and all the promotions are swapt.
I would make the secret society stay as they are or at least only change the whole path instead of ALL the promotions. How am I ment to choose what society if i do not know what they do.

hi sorry I still haven't even got the time to add the list yet. If someone knows how to code, please feel free to copy my mod code and modify it. If not, sorry I can't promise when I can have the time to modify this one.

Hello! I +1 the comment from +ChAoS ; it actually randomizes the promotions from the Secret Societies, which in itself is amazing but it creates several issues:
1. The Vampire promotion on a regular Governor makes it so it pops a new vampire every time the governor is moved, which basically breaks the game
2. Secret societies have governors that actually can't be assigned to anything, which means they get promotions that can't be used at any time.
3. Not sure but promotions are always the same

My suggestion is to make 2 different pools of promotions; the normal ones and the Secret societies ones. But personnally I love that the Secret societies promotions are available on regular governors so here's what could be possible:
1. Prevent effects to be renewed when moving governors
2. Make it so the selected Secret Society governor can also be assigned

And dude, buy the Frontier Pass, it's amazing. Thanks for your work!

I'd Keep it tbh, or at least keep it as an option in the settings.
