Surgery Technology Expansion Modification (DERELICT)

Description
THIS MOD IS INCREDIBLY BROKEN AND BEING REWORKED, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND BEFORE USING THE MOD AT ALL

This mod aims to expand upon the medical system by adding a complete surgery system straight out of SS13, along with cybernetic enhancements.

The diving mask, diving knife, welding tool, radiation sickness affliction, and the husk infection resistance affliction are overridden by this mod. Keep that in mind.

Instructions for procedures below.

STEM Procedure:
1. Put anesthetic tank into diving mask, and then instruct patient to wear the mask. (You can also force them to wear it.)
2. Make an incision with the scalpel.
3. Clamp bleeding with the hemostat.
4. Retract skin with retractors.
5. Cut bone with bonesaw.
6. Place STEM Implant into tweezers, and use the tweezers to carefully implant STEM.
7. Stitch up the patient with the stitching kit.

Corpse Revival Procedure:
1. Make an incision with the scalpel.
2. Clamp bleeding with the hemostat.
3. Retract skin with retractors.
4. Cut bone with bonesaw.
5. Place Revival Implant (or husk stinger) into tweezers, and use the tweezers to carefully implant it.
6. The patient will immediately be revived and quickly awaken.

If any of the procedures don't work, let me know and i will fix that.

Item list:
Scalpel
Hemostat
Retractors
Bonesaw
Tweezers
Stitching Kit
STEM Implant (attempting to inject it or health menu it will only cause internal damage in whatever limb you use it on)
STEM Implant Removal (use this one in the health menu)
STEM Subversion Software (takes over STEM and releases a dangerous killing machine upon the crew)
STEM Software Maintenance Tool (if med skill is high enough, you will reverse a STEM subversion, otherwise you just progress it further or cause it)
Revival Implant (attempting to inject it or health menu it will only cause internal damage in whatever limb you use it on)
Anesthesia Tank (permanently stuns until removed, I know it's kinda broken right now, I will make the tank degrade very fast when i figure out how to make it cooperate)
Autosurgeon Mk. 1 (place an autosurgeon program and a relevant item into the autosurgeon and use the autosurgeon on either yourself or someone else)
Autosurgeon Program: Husk Stinger Implantation
Autosurgeon Program: Timed Explosive Implant (use UEX for this one)
Autosurgeon Program: Husk Stinger Removal
Autosurgeon Program: Husk Egg Implantation
Autosurgeon Program: Corpse Revival
Autosurgeon Program: STEM Implantation
Autosurgeon Program: Heart Removal
Autosurgeon Program: Heart Replacement
Autosurgeon Program: Trachea Removal
Autosurgeon Program: Trachea Replacement
Human Heart
Human Trachea
Fresh Human Trachea
Automated External Defibrillator (client will not be placed back into body, best used on bots
if used on a dead player, you can then use their now-living body for your horrifying experiments
this also gives a permanent health debuff each time someone is revived, eventually ending in the person being dead until next respawn)

The revival trick used by several items and procedures was initially discovered by Hub. Check out his mod, it’s awesome.

TG SS13 in 2021 surgery, haven't played that in a hot minute either so it may have changed

to answer your question, i don't quite remember. it's copied straight out of ss13, the steps for surgery, but i never really did anything with the system and it was genuinely awful anyways.

if you're willing to go through a couple of minor extra steps and use lua, neurotrauma is a more-than-worthy replacement for STEM.

genuine question, how in the hell did you find this mod? it's been unlisted and abandoned for a while now
i'm just trying to find out how people are getting to my unlisted mods because it's happened more than once and i'm just sorta confused. is there a steam collection somewhere?

um this is probably a dumb question but what EXACTLY does stem do (yes ive played ss13) just want to know what it does here
washedAwry  [author] 9 Aug, 2022 @ 10:52am
probably not, just use neurotrauma

is this mod ever getting fixed?

Sorry for the double comment but I forgot to mention, if you host a multiplayer game with this mod
and the edit you must make sure all players connecting have made the previous edit. Attempting to host a multiplayer game otherwise will result in the mod not loading for other players and said other players getting kicked for missing entities. If you are playing with friends it probably won't be an issue but it'd be safe to say that using this mod with my edit to make it load is not multiplayer compatible. That may change depending on whether or not this wonderful mod author ever updates the mod. Love the mod, makes wearing a hard-suit all the time actually bearable.

If you have trouble getting the mod to load try this: locate the mod files for STEM, AppData\Local\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\Barotrauma\WorkshopMods\Installed\2261916290 (these are the files the game is actually using).
Then locate the file called "sounds.xml".
Remove this line: <ambient file="Content/Sounds/Ambient/Ambient1.ogg" />
Your file should look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<sounds>
<music file="%ModDir%/thunderdome.ogg" type="menu" continuefromprevioustime="true" />
</sounds>
Save your edit and enjoy the mod once again.
