[FSF] Vanilla Bionics Expansion (For 1.3 Use Other Version)

Description
Announcement

Currently VBE is split into a standalone Vanilla and a standalone Royalty version. When 1.3 drops I intend to do an update that will merge the two. Using LoadFolders it looks like I can load the vanilla content and specify DLC folders which will only be loaded if the DLC is active. As a result there will only need to be one workshop entry for VBE regardless of what DLCs you own.

This workshop entry will be removed when 1.3 arrives. Instead VBE will carry on at the original workshop entry which you can find at the link below.

[FSF] Vanilla Bionics Expansion

Description

This bionics mod focuses on a very vanilla experience and fills out the numerous prosthetics/bionics/archotechs omitted from the base game. Everything is balanced around vanilla stats, costs, skills and time. Each prosthetic/bionic/archotech changes the body parts efficiency and nothing more. Every part affects only what they are supposed to so there are no weird or whacky bonuses.

The following prosthetics/bionics/archotechs have been added.

Artificial Nose, Prosthetic Eye, Prosthetic Hand, Prosthetic Spine, Prosthetic Lung, Prosthetic Kidney, Prosthetic Liver, Prosthetic Stomach, Bionic Jaw, Bionic Lung, Bionic Kidney, Bionic Liver, Bionic Drill Arm, Bionic Field Arm, Bionic Power Arm, Archotech Ear, Archotech Jaw, Archotech Spine, Archotech Heart, Archotech Lung, Archotech Kidney, Archotech Liver, Archotech Stomach.

The artificial part is merely a replacement and offers no advantage over a natural one. The prosthetics and bionics fill out parts omitted from the base game. Prosthetics give 80% part efficiency, bionics give 125% part efficiency and most archotech give 150% efficiency, all of them are comparable to items in the base game.

I've added full arm replacement versions of the Drill, Field and Claw arms. This allows you to install them on people who have had their shoulder removed or lost which normally would not be possible. They function like a bionic arm with an attachment so they provide 125% efficiency and no movement debuff. The skill bonus is lowered somewhat to compensate for the extra efficiency, in the end they are very slightly more effective than their hand weapons. They are made with a bionic arm, the tool arm and some advanced components.

All Archotech items can only be obtained from quest rewards or from traders.

Compatibility

This mod will likely run with other bionics mods like EPOE or Rah's Bionics but it is not recommended. Running multiple large bionics mods will result in duplicate body parts with differing stats. My mods are designed to be run on their own or in conjunction with bionics mods that simply add additional implants.

I've added patch support for Elite Bionics Framework. If the mod is loaded alongside my own a patch will run adding the HP bonus to bionics parts. It is however not required and is simply an optional addition.

Recommended Mods

Prosthetic No Missing Body Parts
This mod changes how the game checks for hands and feet making it possible to wear items such as gloves, boots and rings on bionic limbs. Check your mod settings for it to ensure all possible bionics are enabled.

Elite Bionics Framework
THIS MOD IS NOT REQUIRED
This mod can be run alongside my own mod. If my mod finds it enabled a patch will run adding the HP bonus to bionics parts. To my knowledge and from my brief testing it can be installed and uninstalled without issue.

Xenobionic Patcher
While A Dog Said is the popular choice for animal bionics. Xenobionic Patcher makes bionics a one size fits all. You can install normal human bionics on your animals without crafting, finding or buying separate bionics.

Bionic Icons
Modifies the icons for bionic boxes so you can tell what they contain without clicking on them.

[SYR] Prosthetic Table
All bionics are removed from the machining bench and fabrication bench. Instead they appear on a new prosthetic table.

Except there were/are two versions of this mod a Vanilla version and a Royalty version. This is the Royalty version. With the 1.3 update I've managed to set up the Vanilla version so it only loads Royalty content if you have Royalty enabled. This entry of the mod is discontinued.

If this requires "Royalty" DLC it shouldn't be called "Vanilla"

Personally I use the Xenobionic Patcher mod so I can use my own bionics on animals. It's especially nice to be able to give them skin glands and other crazy stuff. However A Dog Said is probably the most popular. Beyond that I can't really recommend anything, since I use my own bionics mods I don't really pay much attention to others.

What is the best Mod for Animal bionic options?

Regarding my post below, I cobbled together a small patch in the meantime for myself. I published it in case anyone else is in the same boat: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2489645889

The dev of this mod is welcome to package it officially, if desired.

It's maybe worth noting in the description that this isn't compatible with Save our Ship 2, as this adds archotech bionics too but with different stats and defnames.

No problem thanks! I actually posted this on the wrong Mod of yours I use (I use advanced bionics framework), but I assume the answer is the same.

Sorry but I have no plans to add new unique bionics with VBE. This mod is strictly to fill in the missing gaps and that's it. A bionic like that sort of fits but its moving in the direction on just adding in new stuff.

Hey First this mod is amazing! I don't play without it. This is a small request - Is it possible to add a brain bionic that adds a trait like great memory? I'm thinking an implant that is a counterpart to the learning enhancer that slows skill degradation by ~25%. Thanks!
