I had an idea today. Capacitors. A battery that charges slow, but can discharge fast. Same capacity as the regular batteries you have but with varying rates of discharge capabilities. Like 1/4th charge rate for 2x discharge rate, 1/10th charge rate for 5x discharge rate, etc. Though it'd probably need a new model of sorts for a more capacitor feel to it.

I really like the looks of these. Let me know if you get back into modding at some point so I can come around and start using things again.

However in reference to something you said a few years back about weight saving, this is actually incorrect to assume. Having a larger battery would assume that you fill the extra space with more storage capacity, thus the weight would actually be far heavier than stacking 9 of them together because the energy storage cells would be heavier than the framework around them.

So while having 9 of them would give you a lot of capacity, having one the size of 9, would actually be heavier and give you the capacity of maybe 10 to 12 of them depending on the construction.

I'd also like to suggest that your batteries start off empty, so that they can be deconstructed without losing their energy cells as scrap. One can always use a regular battery or make a jumper battery to fill the role of starting a grid up for its first time.

I don't know if it has ever been mentioned before but the large battery has some tiny floating decals one block above it. In case the large variant is a cut down from the giant one, you might have missed moving some rivet decals :p2cube:

Otherweise love this mod, I use it on pretty much all large builds.

did It break after the Warzone update?

the slight increase in capacity was on purpose to represent the extra space by not needing the fact they are one unit (think about stacking 9 of them together you wouldn't need all the metalwork in between) the weight-saving I have no influence over as the game sets that by the components used. which again I made more efficient relative to their size

These large grid ones are 9x and 18x the size for 10x and 20x the power. That's close enough I guess, but they're half the weight for their stats. That weight saving is huge. So, they're almost strictly better. Is there a reason for this?

Planning on getting it to work with the progress system?

Amazing! I was looking for something like this for ages: Just bigger batteries to avoid having hundreds of vanilla batteries in K-menu.

Thank you for this. Batteries are very useful in SE but the current system demands that you install a great number of individual batteries, which can be a real problem as that snowballs. Being able to compress those batteries into a single block is great!
