British Rail Class 56 (BR Large Logo)

Description
This is a reskin of Celmi's excellent Class 56 locomotive, which is a required file.

The livery is BR's Large Logo, dating from 1978 onwards when new locos were given numbers twice the size of previous bodyside numbers and a full height double arrow logo. They also had light grey roofs, similar to the Stratford silver ones.

@kim.b.ormond - I've uploaded an image of 'Oystermouth' to this mod for you to see. There are limitations imposed by the original texture mapping of Celmi's mod, and these are things I cannot overcome entirely. These are the positioning of the logo/nameplate and, more significantly, the red buffer beam.

The entire undercarriage area is mapped to the same small rectangular black texture and so I cannot isolate the buffer beam section to place it in the correct colour. Whilst this is unfortunate, I hope the rest of the model is reasonable for you.

Thanks for your comment - I'll do some research over the next couple of weeks and see if it's possible to make a decent version of 'Oystermouth' for you.

Would love to see my personal favourite 56040 "Oystermouth" in Railfreight livery next! Great work, keep it up!

@Audiofreak - This isn't my mod, so you need to ask the original creator, Celmi.

Excellent reference picture - thank you. I'm about an hour away from Peterborough as it happens. Will use that image for reference as it's almost flat on. Those window frames are aluminium, stainless steel? And the same around the grilles? That bit may get, ahem, forgotten!

This picture shows the exact loco at Peterborough - the data panel is just to the side of the number

Thanks for the info about the number/grills location - I'll have a play with that as well and see if it looks OK. As well as the large numbers does it still have the white info box and if so, where should it go?

Quince that looks much better with the black windows. The reason the logo wouldn’t have looked right and would have run into the grills is because the number was usually located below the grills and the logo at the other end.

Have a look at this - this is how I remember them - showing my age now🤣🤣
