Historical Industry

Description
Tired of Germany having the biggest industry in the world? Tired of minor nations spamming out dozens of factories?
Then this mod is right for you! This mod completely reworks the factory distribution in the world to get it as close to the historical industries as possible.

- Complete rebalance of factory slots of all countries on earth. See the table above for some examples. USA alone now has about 40% of the world industry, USSR has the same production as all Axis combined.
- Massively decreased factory slots in all minor nations to represent their actual historical production numbers.
- Game now heavily favors the Allies, Axis will only win if led by a very skilled player.
- Other than the industry rebalance the game is left mostly like vanilla so you won't have to relearn the game.

Changelog for the newest version:
- Made the mod compatible with 1.14
- Completely redid the industrial setup, instead of editing every single state file there is now an event firing in the first few days of the game that changes state categories all around the world, to allow for historical industries. This also means that the mod should no longer break whenever paradox releases a new DLC :)
- Reworked balance between Germany and USSR (AI Germany will now be better able to push into USSR initially, but USSR will win in the long term with the stronger economy it has.)

Confirmed that it still works on both 1.14.3 and 1.16.5 as things stand. It seems to make all provinces have the same, generally increased number of build slots -- 24 per state in the US after all industry research is finished.

I don't know whether this'll be enough slots for the late game but I can always try mixing and matching mods if not. Thanks for putting this together, I'm looking forward to a challenging Germany WC!

@redskeleton57 this mod changes the amount of building slots that majors have, not the starting factory count

This still doesn't work? The number of factories is still exactly the same as vanilla, regardless of version. It says it's up to date it just doesn't work

Is this compatible with Road to 56?

@Shush, if it bothers you that much use the Better Mechanics: State Categories mod.

I couldn't help but notice that when state categories are changed, the number of factories in a state don't seem to change. Is that intended?

Shush, the whole point is to balance the game to match reality. Some of us WANT to play with a more realistically scaled Germany and prefer that challenge. I think it's great the way it is...

The idea of this mod is kinda cool, but I did not like the fact that you limited factory slots per state, I think you shouldn't limit the expansion and progression through the years. So as to me, I'm uninstalling and never touching it again unless changes are made in relation to what I said.
