Confirmed that it still works on both 1.14.3 and 1.16.5 as things stand. It seems to make all provinces have the same, generally increased number of build slots -- 24 per state in the US after all industry research is finished.

I don't know whether this'll be enough slots for the late game but I can always try mixing and matching mods if not. Thanks for putting this together, I'm looking forward to a challenging Germany WC!

@redskeleton57 this mod changes the amount of building slots that majors have, not the starting factory count
redskeleton57 15 Nov, 2024 @ 5:36pm
This still doesn't work? The number of factories is still exactly the same as vanilla, regardless of version. It says it's up to date it just doesn't work
Chris Vienna 6 Nov, 2024 @ 12:57am
Is this compatible with Road to 56?
DuckDuckGoing 24 Oct, 2024 @ 9:17am
I thought you were being rude until I read his name lol
Leviticus 23 Oct, 2024 @ 4:55pm
@Shush, if it bothers you that much use the Better Mechanics: State Categories mod.
Leviticus 23 Oct, 2024 @ 4:49pm
I couldn't help but notice that when state categories are changed, the number of factories in a state don't seem to change. Is that intended?
Kaiserkane 20 Oct, 2024 @ 10:07pm
Shush, the whole point is to balance the game to match reality. Some of us WANT to play with a more realistically scaled Germany and prefer that challenge. I think it's great the way it is...
Shush 20 Oct, 2024 @ 7:37pm
The idea of this mod is kinda cool, but I did not like the fact that you limited factory slots per state, I think you shouldn't limit the expansion and progression through the years. So as to me, I'm uninstalling and never touching it again unless changes are made in relation to what I said.

Update: Reworked balance between Germany and USSR (AI Germany will now be better able to push into USSR initially, but USSR will win in the long term with the stronger economy it has.)
redskeleton57 22 Aug, 2024 @ 4:51pm
This doesn't work rn. Please fix
ehst123 5 Aug, 2024 @ 7:22am
This version looks like it needs to be improved.
Oskar arena^soon TM 3 Aug, 2024 @ 5:16pm

Melon1007 22 Jul, 2024 @ 1:21am
I feel like USSR got way too strong unlike your graph in the page, USSR is getting 550 before the war
Keni'ES 19 Jul, 2024 @ 3:35am
Is this version is historical like old versions ?
ehst123 22 Jun, 2024 @ 3:36am
The last version was historical, but the current version is not. It looks like it needs to be updated
Leviticus 14 Jun, 2024 @ 7:10pm
Oh hell yeah.
Kaiserkane 14 Jun, 2024 @ 2:41pm
Yesssss thank you so much!! To many mods make the game stupidly OP, and this mod keeps things nice and difficult as the Axis. Really thankful you updated it! Awarded!
PreciousPig  [author] 14 Jun, 2024 @ 2:52am

Leviticus 17 May, 2024 @ 4:26pm
Hey if you're not updating (I'll do it), can I ask how did you calculate the numbers for the factories?

This mod isn't working anymore, the latest DLC changed the map a tiny bit it seems. Shame, loved this mod :(

GDP and industrial productivity aren't the same thing, and China didn't remotely match Germany or the Soviet Union in industrial production in this period
Urrunoa 17 Jan, 2023 @ 9:42pm
Great mod. I would suggest to increase the economy of China they were on level with Russia and Germany. In 1938 Russia and Germany had a GDP of 350 B$ and China of 320 B$.
Thank you very much for your mod! :)

How is it modifying the balance of the war ? The Reich is weaker I supose ?
Kaiserkane 28 Sep, 2022 @ 10:51pm
Seems to crash the game with the latest patch. It is one of my fav mods so I hope you can patch it :D
saffonax 21 Aug, 2022 @ 9:47am
I like this in theory, but in practice as there is less scope to build industry* industrial capacity for building need to be reduced (*started several games as Japan, but virtually every industry slot is taken at the beginning). Also seems to be no way to destroy and replace industry if for example you want to do something other than convert between civilian and military, like scrap one industry and increase oil storage.
WolvesofZiu 28 Jun, 2022 @ 4:26am
Doesnt seem to work with Road to 56.
IIIIbot 15 Jun, 2022 @ 10:36am
how to whin as germany on the eastern front when the soviets alone outproduce the axis
SalzStange 7 May, 2022 @ 6:51pm
If you speak german i can give ya documentation with sources. It's about the us industrie compared to others. Sadly it does not include canada and such but germany, uk, usa, and japan. It's 8 hours long. So you can learn how it was. Cause you are not completlty wrong. Later the usa was way stronger..
SalzStange 7 May, 2022 @ 6:49pm
Actually germany had a way bigger industrie as the USA at the beginning of the war;).. There are some interesting Documentations about. Just saying.

So the rebalance is not correct. Guess this is also the reason for all the negatives.

If you want it to make it correct, you need to give tech bonus to usa, cause they mass produced, and build up war industry within the last 3 years of the war. They increased their industrie output about the factor 10x and higher.
saffonax 17 Feb, 2022 @ 11:01pm
@impspy You can destroy buidings in the base game, but with this mod loaded, certainly for me, the bottom right 'x' isn't there
PreciousPig  [author] 15 Feb, 2022 @ 11:43am
@ibriJira Feel free to use my mod, and thanks for givnig credit :)
Breez 15 Feb, 2022 @ 4:52am
Hello! I am currently developing 'The Second Great War' mod, for ultra WW2 immersiveness. I would love to integrate this mod, that is, if you permit me to do so. Credit will be given!
impspy 27 Jan, 2022 @ 5:41pm
I would also like to echo the sentiment that build time for industry should probably be increased.
impspy 27 Jan, 2022 @ 5:38pm
@saffonax You can absolutely destroy industry buildings. Mouse over one in the state view and in the bottom right hand corner will be an "x" that gives a "Remove the Building" tooltip.
Aigle2 23 Jan, 2022 @ 4:22am
There are errors on launch :
"State #178 does not have a category defined."
"history/states/621-China 18.txt:16: remove_building: missing building type"

Can you fix them ?

saffonax 19 Dec, 2021 @ 3:29am
I love this historical re-balance !

But I too, too quickly find I've filled all the slots, built all the defences I think plausible, upgraded infrastructure to a plausible level and end up with spare capacity. Think build time could also be increased, perhaps not by too much. Also while you can switch between consumer industry and military, you can't switch between either and synth (chemical) industry, or demolish an industry to replace with synth.
Kaiserkane 30 Nov, 2021 @ 9:01pm
@PreciousPig - awesome!!! Thank you!
