RS-X Futuro

Description
RS-X Futuro is a technology-packed all purpose platform for any sea based mission or SAR operations. Networked microcontrollers for stability, obstacle avoidance and engine control makes a central controller have full control of every system in the ship, adaptable to many different scenarios. RS-X Stands for the experimental division of the Norwegian Sea Rescue Service.

Now with autonomous navigation to a waypoint, it can avoid vehicles and land by adjusting speed and steering on its own. Truly satisfying watching it navigate on its own; last picture in the list above is a the path it took without any driver, to get to the waypoint.

Gets to the arctic base from mainland at its top speed of 50 m/s. At a cruise speed of 20-30 m/s it can go further than 300 km. Using sails, it has infinite range at around 8 m/s in good wind.

Key features
  • Big central display for navigation, beacon finding and radar with target weight readout.
  • Combines fluid jets and bow thruster for neutural rotation and strafe
  • Active stability using fins, weights and fluid jets
  • Remote control
  • Compact folding crane
  • Hidden deployable and re-loadable diesel life boat
  • Parachute sails
  • Cruise control
  • Obstacle avoidance
  • Go-to waypoint function
  • Autonomous navigation using the 3 functions above
  • Automatic engine stop if no players present
  • Automatic clutch and reverse gear with intelligent engine controllers
  • Fuel efficiency/range monitor
  • Beacon locator monitor(s)
  • Night vision HUD
  • Water cannon and 3 pressure-hose outlets
  • Hull shaped for maximum buoyancy and stability
  • 8 medium engines and enough fuel for multiple missions
  • Engine stall guard
  • "CakeTuned" networked stability and engine controllers
  • Eco, Sport, Offshore and Cruise control modes for stability and engine performance in any weather
  • Plenty of gear and towing equipment for any mission
  • Pressure fuel outlet to refuel others

Close-quarter master!
Front thruster combined with rear fluid jets gives you excellent boat control for docking, towing or manouvering in tight spaces.

A spare boat is always handy.
Diesel powered dinghy with good speed and range for its size. Launch and re-pack it using buttons found on the deck, from pilot seat or remotely. If the Futuro is low on electricity, you can use the dinghy as an APU.

Effortless beacon tracking
Range circles are displayed on the main monitor, the source of the beacon signal will be where the circles overlap. Move around to get better readings!

Instructions
like anyone actually reads this
Takes but a second to start, enable fuel & coolant pump, then push-to-start the engines. If you want to, you can use one engine bank at a time, gearing will be adjusted automatically. W/S for throttle and gear, A/D for steering. No levers. Arrow keys for strafe and rotation, refrain from engaging at high speed.
Lights and power breakers are above the dashboard, along with beacon finder, range estimate, mode controller and remote control access.
Go-to waypoint is active when the keyboard by the helm has a coordinate input. 0,0 coordinate input disables it.
---Be in cruise control mode when using go-to waypoint.---

Misc
  • Click the REMOTE monitor to toggle remote access
  • Switch mode using the MODE monitor, also controls cruise speed
  • Obstacle avoidance is only active when in cruise mode
  • Use the pressure hose outlets for extra fire-fighting capability, pumps are always on just connect a hose
  • Further instructions are to be found inside the cabin on STB side, along with remote control channel
  • Mag-all for crane is downstairs
  • Boat automatically stops if no players present, unless you enable "auto shut-off override" on the overhead panel
  • Boat usually uses electric motors as starters, for low battery, use emergency battery and manual starter in engine room

((Please DM me any issues and possible features could add))
ENJOY!

Correct, it has not yet been updated with the new radiators, still using water tank cooling. This will be fixed soon

Randomly the engines will catch fire. Usually at high speeds
