-Description-
Welcome to Rossokhov & Volomas! this is the second map i've made, and i would like to say its an improvement from my last, (not that Warstalensk is bad), the map is completely fictional, and is only loosely inspired by the USSR, the map is also completely hand made and has been made over the space of a couple weeks.
The map itself is split into two main landmasses, Rossokhov in the west, and Volomas in the east.
Rossokhov is the main focus of the map, with all the towns and settlements located there, Volomas on the other hand is practically uninhabited, and is mostly untouched.
The map encourages you to use a larger variety of transportation too, the most obvious of which being ships and boats, however there is space for planes and more simple modes of transportation too.
The map features lots of mountains along with some valleys, plenty of flatter areas, lots of big forests, more clear areas, a large body of water splitting the map in two which resembles a sea or large lake, a few streams, some marsh areas, and more smaller features.
The map also includes multiple customs posts, of which most are located on the Soviet border.

-Resources-
The map includes all the current resources.
  • Coal
  • Iron
  • Oil
  • Uranium
  • Bauxite
All of which are sufficient enough for industry without being too rich, if your unhappy with the resources there is a more and less resources version of the map. the resources are relatively spread out but most are around mountains, look at the resource maps to see for yourself.

-Final message-
As i've already mentioned i've put alot of work into this map so i hope you enjoy it! feel free to rate it to how you see fit and to leave any comments on improvements and suggestions as i'm always open! and ill try to reply to all your comments. i'm hoping there are less issues on this map then the last one, however if you do find any issues let me know in the pinned discussion and i will see what i can do although i cannot promise i will be able to fix them. if you'd like you can see my other maps via my workshop or profile if your interested, hopefully i will create more maps in the future too.
But as always i hope you enjoy my map, and have fun!

@bacons960 thanks for popping by, i think these problems may be a result of updates to the game, i tested all the connections when i made the map and had no issues, judging by what I've seen others build on this map in the past too and by the fact this is the first time i'm hearing it, like i said, i feel like this is due to updates to the game, whether that be changes to hitboxes, map borders or some other change i wouldn't know.

What i can tell you is i'm afraid i wont be updating the map any longer, so this will go unchanged. Also when it comes to the gravel yes you're right, looking back i should have added more, but there are multiple people who told me they saw it as an extra challenge per say, but yes in hindsight i would have added more.

Nonetheless this is a pretty old map by now, so sorry i won't be fixing it, but i thank you for playing it, its great to see people still visiting.

@Sausage and mash At the borders they have problems with the electrical connections at the entrances but another one with a population has no problems but this map does have problems and the stones are very difficult from where I built in a large city but also the connections of a customs that has a connection. The railway does not connect

@Silent_Shadow i think that might of been intentional, either way though it doesn't effect game play, its outside of the border and all, i don't think ill go back and change it. but yes these maps were made quite a while ago now, and i don't think i'm interested in making more or putting too much effort into looking after the ones I've made now. but thanks for the heads up anyway, i still appreciate it.

Not sure if you care about this map anymore, but it looks like one segment of the foreign roads from the NW corner is made of gravel instead of asphalt.

@septemberWaves sounds very interesting! and i'm more then happy to give you permission to do so! so long as you clearly state that i'm was the original creator of the map itself then i have no opposition to you uploading it, and of course you deserve the credit of making this re-made version of the map reach sounds really neat! i can add you if you'd like and if you want you can add me as a contributor as the creator of the original map, that's up to you but it would be appreciated, ill send you a request either way, also if you'd like i can sort out sending the original thumbnail to you and you can use it as a base and change it so it suits you, but again that's up to you and i respect your decision if you want to make your own thumbnail. you can dm me on steam if you have anything you'd like to ask, ill be available some time tomorrow in the afternoon (uk) if you need anything. but like i said yes you have my permission and im excited to seeing the map!

I'm presently making an adjusted version of this map with rudimentary infrastructure in place for a cosmonaut-ready 1930 start (with the help of some mods that allow starting so early). I figured other people might be interested in something like that, so I'd like to request permission to upload the edited version to the workshop (properly credited to you, of course). What I've done is start on the unpopulated version of the map, add in towns according to where they are on the populated version, add basic infrastructure to the three largest settlements, and connect those three up with a basic rail network, as well as connecting everywhere up with dirt roads.

Great map, thank you very much! I like to use ships, but also planes (transporting goods from one end of the map to the other), and this map is really very interesting.
