Description
ENGLISH

An attempt at making the AI perform better in its army and mod choice.
The AI will also use some DVAR abilities better and marauders pose a bigger threat.

■ General:
○ increased the number of more cities than a player an AI can own&create to 9999 for all difficulty.
○ increased the limit of consecutive research tier the AI can do to 4.

■ Army composition:
○ ressource priority and priority for most T3&T4 units in the game got increased.
○ same unit type limiter got increased to 0.9. (should now be able to spam more higher tier units.)

■ Modding:
○ AI research multiplier increased to 2 for all difficulty. (better chance for the AI getting better mods and units to use)
○ AI cosmite multiplier increased to 3 for all difficulty. (better chance for the Ai to mod their units and actually build more than a few T3&T4.)
○ most T3 mods and a few very powerfull T2 mods got their ressource priority and overall priority increased.
(AI tend to not update mod loadout for some reasons. so this give a better chance of it using better&higher tier mods for their mod loadout.)
○ AI all ressources multiplier doubled for highest difficulty.

■ Diplomacy:
○ increased the cost of complimenting from 10 to 20 influence. (to avoid easy compliment spamming to get favours)
○ set the minimum number of NPC factions to 3. (war against at least one npc faction may happen unless you want to maintain good relationship with all 3 which may be detrimental. it also permit, for those who can pull it off, to buy the neccessary 3 GRAAL codes from all 3 NPC faction. in the case of having only one or 2 different NPC faction enabled it should just spawn one more settlement of one of the available NPC factions.)

■ Marauders:
○ decreased the time it takes for them to raid with stronger forces or upgrade their defensive forces. (i didn't touch spawn timers tho.)

■ Battle AI:
○ DVAR trenche ability will not be used on the first turn anymore.
○ DVAR artillery should use more often its ability to expand its range.

=> I may have forgotten a few more minor tweaks i may have made ^^'

Une tentative d'améliorer l'IA dans sa création d'armée et sélection de mods.
L'IA devrait aussi mieux utiliser certaines capacités d'unités DVAR et les maraudeurs sont une menace un peu plus sévère.

■ Générale:
○ limite de ville que l'IA peut controller&fonder en plus de ce qu'un joueur humain possède augmenté à 9999 pour toute difficultés.
○ limite de recherche consécutive de tier supérieur qu'une IA peut effectuer augmenté à 4.

■ Composition d'amrée:
○ priorité de ressource et priorité pour la majorité des unités T3&T4 augmenté.
○ limite d'unités identique augmenté à 0.9. (cela devrait insiter l'IA a spamer plus d'unités de tier supérieur.)

■ Modding:
○ multiplicateur de recherche de l'IA augemnté à 2 pour toutes les difficultés. (plus de chance que l'IA découvre de meilleurs unités et mods.)
○ multiplicateur de cosmite de l'IA augmenté à 3 pour toutes les difficultés. (plus de chance que l'IA mod ses unités et produise plus que quelques T3&T4.)
○ priorité de ressource et priorité générale de la plupart des mods T3 et quelques mods T2 puissant augmenté. (l'IA a tendance a ne pas mettre a jour ses mods pour certaines raisons. ceci lui donne plus de chance d'utiliser de meilleur mods ou des mods de plus haut tier.)
○ multiplicateur de toutes les ressources de l'IA doublé pour la difficulté maximal.

■ Diplomacy:
○ coût en influence des compliments augmenté de 10 à 20. (pour éviter de spamer trop facilement l'IA de compliment pour obtenir ses faveurs.)
○ nombre minimum de factions neutre augmenté à 3. (une guerre contre au moins une des factions neutre présentes est plus probable. il est toujours possible d'essayer de garder la paix au détriment des relations avec toutes les factions présentes. il est toutefois possible d'essayer d'entretenir de bonnes relations avec les 3 pour obtenir les 3 codes secret menant au GRAAL. si le nombre maximum de faction neutre est inférieur a 3 pour les paramètres de la partie alors une des factions neutre présentes devrait avoir une ville supplémentaire.)

■ Maraudeurs:
○ temps nécessaire a l'amélioration des forces d'assaut et de défense diminué. (temps d'apparition des forces d'assaut inchangé.)

■ IA en bataille:
○ l'IA n'utilisera plus la capacité de retranchement DVAR au premier tour de bataille.
○ la compétence d'augmentation de portée du véhicule d'artillerie DVAR devrait être utiliser plus souvent.

=> Il est possible que j'ai due oublier de mentionner certains petit changements. ^^"

the game was coded like this so that the Ai don't only spam high tier units like in AOW3. i did increased ressource priorities for higher tier units and should have allowed it to be able to fill 90% of its armies of the same unit if it wants to. but ultimately i am not sure if it does really work as intended. the modding tools may have lots of options but we may be limited by what's hard coded.

sorry for the late reply. i kinda stopped all activities for planetfall a long time ago and didn't got any notifications from steam about new comments. i just randomly came here and noticed all the new comments...

_i didn't checked any buildings priorities. so these problems may also be in vanilla.
_i feel like thats maybe why the devs limited the number of AI cities. honestly thats a problem i didn't thought of. i don't think this is solvable unless i put back the city limit.
_it is indeed kinda easy to request stuff via diplomacy... the boost in cosmite was for it to get enough ressources to push the Ai in getting more mods for its units. the best way to fix this would be to try and find a way to limit what an Ai can trade with another player. dumno if that option exist within the modding tool we have.

Great mod! Makes AI a bit more hard.
But also I've noticed few issues:
- Most colonies have Basic Research Building. Not Food one. In general AIs' cities tend to grow to 10-12, including HQ. I play on extreme difficulty. When my colonies have 24-26 colonists, AI's usually have 10-12, rarely 16.
- AIs spam cities but every city has 2-3 sectors at max. So conquering is very tedious, because you have a lot of small colonies (I don't usually raze them). And with this another imperfection shows - AI don't know which city to defend while invaded. It's many stacks are scattered and rarely come to HQ to defend.
- It's very easy to request cosmite: 10-20 per turn from any AI with non aggression pack and higher. So I can get even 50-60 cosmite per turn while I get 10-15 from buildings and nodes. This makes game very easy, especially when I can put tier IV mods on units on turn 10.

Is there anything you can do to change this?

This MOD is great!:steamthumbsup:

But it still won't equip the T4 unit with mod ,and AI always produces lot of T1 unit after 50 rounds。。。these led to weakness for ai at late of game。

Where would you find the installed files if I wanted to edit this to remove the 2x research boost?

@steelwork I consider unshackling AI`s expanding potential as changing AI behavior when making the difference between vanilla AI behavior. This seems to have been done so that it gives the player a considerable handicap through easy to hard opponents, aimed for people who arent familiar with XXXX-games. I enjoy that the AI doesnt have too much monetary handicap, while playing hard AI, but I would like them to Xpand more if they have the possibility to do so, and then punish the possibly lazy player, aka. me.

"Very hard" difficulty is pretty much optimum for semi serious games, for me atleast, and the matches feel sometimes really nicely tight in difficulty (I play medium maps with 8 AI`s, in mostly land), but I still feel that I could up my gameplay if the AI opponents would be unshackled.

TLD: I want the AI to be more brutal on lower difficulties than the hardest difficulty.

Thanks for the link and help! I`ll try to come up with it by myself. Will be a nice learning experience. :)
