ttt_dilapidated

Description

ttt_dilapidated is a claustrophobic research facility best played with six to twelve people. While exploring, be weary of any waste spills that have affected vast sections of the compound. Life-threatening toxins may be present. Nowhere is this more apparent than the central chamber. The central chamber is home to the compound’s biggest dangers, so be weary of [it and those that explore it.] The traitors are up to something. Though there are around 48 weapons and 28 spawnpoints, the maximum amount of players we recommend is around 20 or so players, as the map's not really built for more.

Traitor Event: Ninety seconds into the round (including the preparation phase) three powerboxes will turn red. When this happens, the traitors may choose to search and destroy them. If the traitors successfully destroy all three, a panel in the central room will light up green. When used, the entire facility will begin to flood with both toxic waste and toxins. Eventually, this will cause an automatic traitor victory.

The VERICO compound, located in southeastern Europe, was a biological & chemical research facility. Today the building lies dormant, due to an abrupt evacuation in the mid ‘90s. What truly happened to VERICO is unknown, as no public record of the company, nor its owners, has been made since the incident. Rumors have surfaced of skin-depredating bioliquids, as well as malformed beasts, almost alien in nature.

Among the rumors, one note circulated online only a few years after the incident:
“Whilst a toxic slime bizarre bioliquid had been developed, much more interesting was something born out of the spores that that liquid seems to emit, some strange, super unusual lifeforms. Unlike most anything we've seen on Earth. Though by now only a scant few, if any, specimens survive. There are also these weird blue light emitting crystals which seem to emit some form of radioactive energy, but there was little research done on them before the facility shut down. This shutdown occurred rather abruptly in the mid 90s, after an incident with a particularly aggressive specimen, who seemed to be nigh on unstoppable, and wreaked havoc on some of the structural foundations, even causing some cave-ins.”

~Unknown, 1999

i went through this this map and never knew it had any breakable parts in it (besides the glass doors)

@SuperDean I'm not familiar with navigation meshes in-game, if nav_generate did not work though you can manually edit them in-game with the nav_edit 1 command on the console. I do not know how the edit mode itself works, but it should solve your problem? nav_generate most likely merely isn't recognizing a lot of the terrain, considering much of it is destructable.

i tried to make a nav for the map so npcs can work on this map but when i did it said: "No valid walkable seed positions. Cannot generate Navigation Mesh."

Yeeeeh if they're specifically like, prop plugins I'd deffo. say that's what's causing it, though it is strange it doesn't happen in any other map! Might be the HDR? Unsure! I hope you manage to fix your problem
Thank you! :D

Yeah, might also be caused by another addon, unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it on any other non-css and css map. We have used the prop gun addon for ttt, it might caused all the prop issues. Map is cool designed though :)

@JamesBondage I gotta say, that's really vexxing. We playtested this map several times with slightly different conditions multiplayer, and more varied ones singleplayer (including a very low spec rig). Could it be that perhaps some plugin in your server is causing this issue?
As for the errors, it is an harmless error but it does clog up the server log. Unfortunately, as far as I know there isn't any fix that I can provide on my end. Though I believe there exists some plugin to mute those errors? About as much as I've gathered from brief googling.

On our server the map has a very weird appearance and we often bug into the ground. The server ist keep getting this error every second
DataTable warning: (class prop_dynamic): Out-of-range value (-1.000000) in SendPropFloat 'm_vecDirection', clamping.

@amberlopezgamble Yes! You have to play it in TTT, the powerboxes can only be destroyed by Traitors, it shows a lil' hand symbol (like activating a trap) on them, you have to be standing pretty close though! If you wanna get that working in singleplayer, you can open console and type in:
-ttt_min_players_1
-ttt_debug_preventwin 1
(alternatively when creating a game I believe these are options on the sidebar)

and the game will let you play just by yourself. Keep in mind that because you're doing prevent_win, the game won't automatically end 75 seconds after pressing the button, *only* when the timer runs out. This is just because you have prevent_win (but you need it to be able to play this in singleplayer).

Do you need to be in TTT to destroy the powerboxes and flood the map?
Qbetex  [author] 18 Dec, 2020 @ 3:45pm
@edancochran67 the only sound effects I used were from HL2 and custom VOX sounds made from HL1 (annoucers for powerboxes). The sound I think you're talking about (I never played paranoia) is playground_memory which has children's screams but that plays at the start of HL2.
As for why I used it, I felt mean >:)
