Description
REQUIRED: VANILLA SKYRIM, LATEST UPDATE AND A CLEAN SAFE!

START YOUR VISIT TO DOV-RHA VILLAGE AND PALACE AT DOVAH’S RETREAT. DOVAH’S RETREAT, DOV-RHA VILLAGE AND DOV-RHA PALACE ARE MARKED ON YOUR MAP. AT DOVAH’S RETREAT YOU WILL FIND A STRONGBOX ON THE PORCH, CONTAINING THE KEY TO THE RETREAT. INSIDE THIS COTTAGE YOU WILL FIND A JOURNAL WITH DETAILS ABOUT THE VILLAGE AND THE PALACE AND THE KEY TO THE PALACE (ON A NIGHTSTAND AT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED IN THE BASEMENT).

At certain points in the game, when the Dragonborn becomes a thane in a hold, he/she can buy him/herself a house: Breezehome, Honeyside, Vlindrel Hall, Proudspire Manor or Hjerim. With the Hearthfire DLC he/she can build three new homes: Lakeview Manor, Windstad Manor and Heljarchen Hall. With several plugins the Dragonborn may call him/herself the owner of shacks, houses, inns, farms, manors, halls and sometimes even a brewery or a castle, all across Skyrim.

But … wait a minute! Didn’t the same Dragonborn defeat Alduin, the World-Eater, end the Civil War, destroy Potema, the Wolf Queen, destroy all the Dragon Priests? Didn’t the same Dragonborn become the Harbinger and the Arch-Mage. And, what about all those wild animals, creatures and other bad NPCs (bears, wolves, skeevers, spriggans, trolls, bandits, Falmer, Forsworn and giants)? Yes, the Dragonborn may even have become the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood and the leader of the Thieves Guild, but lets forget those criminal activities!

In my humble opinion the Dragonborn deserves something else to call his/her home! The Dragonborn deserves a palace! He/she deserves the DOV-RHA PALACE, the Dragon Palace!

The Dov-Rha Palace is situated in the Whiterun Hold, not far from Redoran’s Retreat, north of Fort Greymoor, in other words the very center of the province of Skyrim. The exterior of the palace is a copy of the Blue Palace, but the interior is completely redesigned. Just read all about how this came to be in the journal of the surveyor.

UNIQUE AND PROTECTED NPCS

All NPCs are unique and are marked ‘Protected’, meaning that they can only be killed by the player. But, they are also marked not to respawn, so once they are killed they will not again appear in the game.

TO DO
At the moment you may encounter various glitches in the interior of the palace and the village exterior, that will not harm your gameplay. In a few cases I just couldn’t find the correct walls, pillars, etc. that could match my interior design.

UPDATES
** Rev. 1 (01/03/2014): Finished lights in the palace; some minor cosmetic changes.
** Rev. 2 (09/03/2014): Done lots of navmesh-ing (palace interior and village exterior); minor cosmetic changes. NPCs seem to be moving around much better now, doing what they should do.
** Rev. 3 (15/03/2014): The palace now has a 3rd floor, to be accessed by a portal near the master bedroom. This floor consists of an alchemy and enchantment room and additional mannequins and display cases. This floor also has 5 special portals, two of which can be activated. One leads to Skuldafn and one leads to Sovngarde; the other 3 can't be activated yet (reserved for future updates). WARNING: Do not use these portals if you haven't visited Skuldafn or Sovngarde at least one time!! All mannequins in the palace can now be activated, but display cases may still be buggy (items falling on the floor). New in the village are a general goods store (Aurane & Birard) and a miner's house (Dalgin & Heddvild). The new inhabitants rent their house/store from the player. Rent for house/store in kind is stored in 3 chests on the porch of Dovah's Retreat (various ores and special beverages). Be sure to empty these 3 chests regularly, as for the moment these chests are respawning.
** Rev. 4 (16/03/2014): All display cases on the 1st and 3rd floor are working fine now (however, one of the display cases may (sometimes) be invisible). A sharpening wheel and an anvil have been added to Dovah's Retreat.
** Rev. 5 (20/03/2014): All NPCs in the village now have standard dialogue (guards, hunters, miners, merchants, cooks and cleaning).

VISITOR'S WISHLIST:
1. children's room(s) (will be available in the future HF edition)
2. NPCs working for you (tenants of the store and miner's house pay rent in kind; cooks and cleaning need payment)

Still to do:
* finish some navmeshing (most has been done, but still some to do)
* view at a distance is bad (don’t know how to fix at the moment; something to do with LOD?)
* working out how to get rid of the ugly tundra grass/shrub

If you have suggestions, please let me know!

Plans with this mod that I have in mind:
* access to the tower at the left of the palace gate
* parties in the palace (each 1st sunday of the month, or better yet ... your call)
* opening the library and display wings for visitors
* in celebration of … (lore based celebration days)
* all that you can think of and reasonably fits (as lore friendly as possible)

IF YOU LIKE THIS MOD, PLEASE FAVORITE! IF IT'S A FAVORITE OF YOURS, PLEASE RATE (THUMBS UP!). THAT'S WHAT KEEPS ME GOING!!

not replace ,towers and archers will be a nice touch afterall if people have dawnguard installed it might not be a bad idea for a wall around the village with a magical barrier to prevent vampire attacks on the inside boy will take some time for them to kill kitty might last 10-11 attacks guards might 30-31 attacks leaving only the dragon last alot longer but some people me being one of them has asked me because they cant access steam can you make it stronger with an update and place a download link on youtube.co.uk/downloads/skyrim-elder-scrolls-V/cities oh by the way that url is for you to use no-one has used it yet

@assasinscreedrogue007: I have neglected this mod for a while, working on various other mods. Dov-Rha means 'dragon', but for me it relates to the Dovahkiin, the Dragonborn, the slayer of dragons. I'm not really in for a wall, as the guards, Boy, Kitty and the dragon are very well capable of guarding the area. A black and gold armour is a nice idea since I have recently learned to mess about with nif-files, meshes and textures, but I'm still not very good at it, so it may take a while. As for your other suggestions, I will think about it, but I have no intend to replace the palace by a Dawnguard fort type.

perhaps change the amount of guards to even more and perhaps have a wall securing the entire area change guard armour sets to a black and gold afterall dont want the guards being mistaken for whiterun troops also i had the idea could make it work for a (become high king of skyrim mod) besides could do with adding more 4-5 dragons and making work with (100 small dragons mod) i dont quite see how it be called dov-ra retreat not enough dragons or its own unique characteristics (mentioned before guards, dragons and perhaps make at a fort type place like fort dawnguard) i now i am a bit critical but i think everyone will think its better as well

@emmaculbert25: That's one of the parts that still needs some work. Updating on Steam may be a problem, so I will most likely upload updates on my personal website.

Would be nice to get to know the glitches! Yes, it's not finished, still working on it. If you have found any bugs, let me know, so I can fix them!

This looks like a great mod. However, it's glitchy and not finished so I'll favorite it for now. I'll consider subscribing when you get the bugs fixed and finish the mod. Great work so far....Keep going!

Also I have noticed that alot of mods end up being abandoned by the authors. I think people get hold of the Creation Kit and make big plans for their mods and then either can't live up to those plans because of time constraints, or are simply limited by their knowledge of the Creation Kit. Either way we all suffer. Its disappointing and unfortunate!
