Unknown artifacts [Artifacts extended]

Description
Due to fact that Bugtrauma does'nt support overriding vanilla names and descriptions by external files, this mod was reverted to English-only names and descriptions! (to have same names and descriptions as Unknown artifacts mod)




This mod is a variation of Artifacts extended mod and extension of Unknown artifacts mod.

This mod is best used with Unknown artifacts mod.
Had to split in 2 mods to solve some incompatibility problems.

The purpose of this mod is to extend your immersion level.
This mod overrides artifact's name and description with pattern "Alien artifact", but keeps all visual effects. Also this mod changes artifact look, so you won't be able to name artifact by it's color.

Artifacts that get affected by this mod:
All artifacts that present in Artifacts extended mod, except default artifacts. (default artifacts are intact)

This mod is compatible with other artifact mods.
(except Artifacts extended, cause this mod duplicates it)




Mod that extends variety of artifacts and their unique effects.

Atm mod contains:
  • New artifacts
  • New artifact missions (ruins + caves)
  • 2 New alien trinkets
  • Added healing effects to all alien trinkets (inner/organ damage, bites/laceration, burn, blunt/explosion traumas or psychosis)

Ways to obtain new artifacts:
  • Missions
  • Naturally generated ruins
  • Environment: caves, seabed, wrecks (as it seems it works properly, even without workaround below)




Environment workaround (in case for some for some reason artifacts don't spawn in environment)
New artifacts will not generate normally in environment unless you edit Bugtrauma/Content/randomevents.xml
(an old bug, that has not been fixed yet)
You'll have to delete everything inside tags <Randomevents></Randomevents>
This will let mod use it's Artifacts extended/Events/events.xml

This will not effect your campaign savefile and even will let you join public games, but if you you'r planning to host an unmoded public game, you'll have to validate game files first to restore Content/randomevents.xml file.
(else nothing will spawn during the mission, neither monsters neither artifacts)

Workaround side effects:
  • not compatible with other mods that require you editing randomevents.xml (afaik atm there's no such mods)

If Original mod author does not want to have that mod up, gonna delete it. If original mod author wants to use that mod to update his own version, they can do it without notifying me.

Может сделаем отсылку на Sea of Thieves? Артефакт тысячи кружек - Бодро опьеняет рядом с ним по типу ауры, и мобов тоже :captainclown:

None at all.

That can be attempted, but I fail to see how it would resolve the mod disabling itself when it is enabled and not auto-enabling for a server.

To be sure, I suspect this is an issue with Barotrauma itself more than it is the mod, as I've had the same issue (also unresolved) with Xanmonsters many moons ago in the time long before. I'm just grasping at straws here.

hmm, do you have any mod artifacts on your sub? Try removing/selling them and saving the game. Disabling mod and undocking/docking the station might help too.
Last update has added feature to disable artifacts effects while in artifactcontainer

After the update, I got a friend who can't join the server anymore because it wants him to subscribe to the mod, even though he's already subscribed to it. Trying to enable it manually in settings results in it disabling itself immediately.

Tried manually removing/redownloading all mod files and reinstalling barotrauma, but the issue persists.
