Icebreaker Anchorage

Description
Icebreaker Anchorage

Updated 3/30/22

🆂🆄🅼🅼🅰🆁🆈
The ship has received a pretty sizable upgrade of features and aesthetic details, see the update and features sections below for details. Anchorage is an icebreaker ship designed for arctic exploration but is equipped for nearly any mission. As an icebreaker, Anchorage can take direct hits to the bow reasonably well, but in the event that damage causes flooding in the front compartments, there are bilge pump controls on the bridge to manage these conditions. She can sink but the way it’s compartmentalized it requires fairly significant exterior damage to do it, or by using the new sinks modes.

-This can vary some when using fluid jet engines to supplement propeller drive engines
~80-210KM at 15-26KTs
-The "speed drive mode" located just left of the normal engine ignitions, which extends two additional propellers from the bottom of the hull for additional speed when needed. This does decrease range so be mindful of that.
-I find the best speed option to be all three engine options on, which runs about 26KTS, while the best speed to efficiency option is with all three engaged but with the fuel saver toggle on, which gives about 100KM range at about 22.5KTs in normal conditions

🅵🅴🅰🆃🆄🆁🅴🆂
• A fairly robust set of sink and disaster options ranging from a straight sink to engine fires, stuck rudders, fuel explosions, etc. The console for this is located just behind the helm. There are several straight options labeled as expected, but I also added a bit of a random disaster scenario switch will select from 25 separate sink/disaster options. I've never done a system like this before so it took a ton of trial and error, especially considering I designed this ship to be very hard to sink, but i think some of you may enjoy this anyway
• A sonar system set where the main map is on the bridge, which can also detect sharks, whales, and megs. This view is also routed as a secondary display for the helo and rhib as well for remote viewing of the sonar while you may be off looking for the source of the underwater object. As far the identification goes, it uses approximate size to make the determination so if you encounter an object of similar size it's possible to misidentify
• Bow crane for transporting gear strapped to the front deck or below in the cargo area
o recommend keeping the crane in the stowed position while the ship is underway
• An automatic stabilization system for ship stability. This system can be overwhelmed if the ship’s roll becomes too much. I have recently updated however with an auxiliary element of propellors on the bottom of the ship. This system uses an additional set of batteries that will run down as it gets used and if the level gets low enough will use some engine power to keep the system charged, slightly reducing ship speed
• Equipment room with all equipment types
• Radar system
• Bow thrusters
• Collision avoidance system with audible alarm for objects in the ships path (which is mutable but will only sound audio if ship is moving)
• Emergency beacon and locator
• Functioning port and starboard anchors
• Engine fire suppression system, this system is located in the engine room on the catwalk platform or in the bridge on the left of the helm
• Onboard generator (suggest running this generally when ship’s in operation)
oThe generator controls are located in a small room located just forward of the engine room on the port side, but there are status indicators on the bridge
• Map and camera monitors
• Central heating system
• Firefighting systems on the bow in front of the bridge, and in the engineering space near the generator room. There are also separate firefighting stations on three levels of the aft end of the ship as well
o The hot water boiler is located on the middeck on the starboard side across from the equipment room
• Foldable mast for when traversing under the railroad bridge and other low obstacles
• Two emergency escape rafts with emergency beacon and seating for four passengers
oThese rafts can be deployed from a button in the ship just inside the window from the rafts or from in the raft, look up at the ceiling and there's a toggle button on the ship hull by the hatch door

• A deployable RHIB boat in the rear of the ship:
o To the left of the boat there is a launch/recovery button which will open the launch doors and put the boat in the water.
o The RHIB has separate tanks for transporting additional fuel
o Features equipment, emergency beacon and locator, and an onboard heater

• A modified version of my Black Lightning helicopter for transportation and surveying efforts. Please see that posting below for more information on that helicopter’s features.
o A few notes about it:
o Make sure to disconnect the front and rear tie down ropes and lastly the disconnect magnet before taking off. There is a magnet disconnect in the helicopter for ease of use.
o Helo uses a gyro starter system so you only need to push 1 once to start the engine and once to stop it. This also affects the throttle control so be careful with using the up and down arrow keys
o Helo has a hybrid mode that engages VTOL fans for increased speed (~75M/S), press 3 with the helo over 25M/S and they will engage. Special note to turn them off when slowing down and landing or you can lose control
o Anti-collision alarm system
o Automatic heater
o Equipped with fire extinguisher, rope, repair torch, and other equipment

I hope you enjoy my ship!

• Fixed issues with engines overheating
• Made further updates to stabilization system
• Added some further options for speed/fuel efficiency by upping the speed provided by each engine, but also added a fuel saver toggle on the bridge.
• Added a multi-functioning sink mode, this console is found behind the main helm, see the section above for details
• Added lots of small details, additional bulkheads to improve the general feel of the interior
• Added sonar to the main ship map, see above features section for details
• Added engine view consoles in the area above with stats and killswitches
• Added a few handheld weapons to the equipment area, the ship isnt a warship so it's only for securing the ship mostly

•Modern Radar controller I use from Vitus's ship the MSV Post.

how do I use the helicopter?

I see there are small fluid tanks, and with the new desalinator you could get more fresh water into it from the ocean
